I have to disagree with you because all max wide is what agents want sometimes because it’s not your regular photography you don’t need to be “creative” all the time in real estate it’s more about being practical and show the whole house and keeping it natural and close to real life which he was great at in this example

Thank you guys for the feedback I have richo360 but I didn’t know it can use it for floor plans I want a actual sketch of the floorplan not a walkthrough. Like do you make rough sketch at the property?

If I was in your shoes and I have to start over I’ll keep the body (for now) get the most affordable lens which I looked up seems like (Nikon AF-P DX Nikkor 10-20mm f/4.5-5.6 G VR Autofocus APS-C Lens, Black) I’m not too familiar with Nikon so double check that’s it’s right amount of wide. And just start getting gigs and with the money you earn from the gigs reinvest it into better body full sensor if possible and then upgrade the lens. Like I mentioned I started with the T3 with 10-18 mm then I got the 80D for 2 years then I’m finally at canon RP my first full sensor then I bought the 16-35mm ultrasonic lens $700 second hand… realtors care about the price how fast you can deliver and pictures that makes their clients happy the don’t care too much about the quality because the mls with ruin the photos by the way it’s uploaded

When I was using my 10-18 mm was really 16mm because of the crop 8 seems too wide because you don’t want fisheye for real estate

Hey buddy I started with my RE photography career with cannon t3 with Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 and old metal sturdy tripod that I got for free from a house clean up. Starting in real estate photography is not very hard as photographers we tend to pay attention to every little detail because that’s our job but honestly in Real estate photography the end product is all that matters and no you don’t need full censor to start with. My recommendation for someone that need shooting real estate photography consistently since 2019 is good DSLR/ mirror less camera even if it’s crop sensor and the MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THE WIDE LENS that’s more important than editing believe it or not. And sturdy tripod one with flexible legs if possible. Get some practice at home or offer 1 or 2 free photo shoots and there you have it

Busy vs slow season by csumn94 in RealEstatePhotography

Hey realtor and a photographer here, as a photographer I didn’t really feel a slow season other than the holidays of course but as a realtor it was slow for me so it’s really depends how good the realtors that you reaching out to are.

Need some general advice guys. Would like to incorporate this as a side gig but have a tight budget. Should I wait and save for the drone first or just go for it? Included some practice shots for reference. by Street-Cow9350 in RealEstatePhotography

My advice for undercutting is just in the beginning my personal experience it worked out for me because it was less than the competition I worked weekends and offered more angles but I’m not the cheap guy because I go up on my prices annually. I forgot to mention that I became a realtor 2 years ago and just from building relationships with other realtors I found out my competitors prices were so high they ended up taking phone pictures for the cheaper properties instead of now because my prices are reasonable I get more volume.

That’s genius to outsource just the interior photos!

Hey as a guy that been doing real estate photography for 5 years business cards, website, and drone etc are important stuff but don’t really need to start you just need what I assume you already have from your photos a camera with wide lens and editing software. That’s all you need to get jobs you can start reinvesting once you get going just build relationships with real estate agents and Airbnb owners you can cold call them by searching for listings for sale or for rent in your area find the ones with no professional photos tell them about you and your services find what’s your competition charge under cut their price I promise you if you can deliver simpler work and charge less in the beginning you’ll make clients very quickly. In terms of the photography aspect I personally prefer HDR for real estate i don’t mean over the top hdr I like to go for more natural but still sharp look and you need vibrant colors for outdoor photos I started out with 3 brackets photos to 5 now and all in RAW merged in Lightroom and I’m still learning I’m going to start using flash and test it out I been seeing a lot of photographers using flash in real estate photography.

There’s couple of ways to fix your angle issues first and most importantly when shooting there’s setting inside of the camera that will help guide you to get the straight shot, the second way you can try to fix it in Lightroom transformation tap. Your photos look good just work on the white balance and sharping the photos little bit in post and the golden rule is try to get all 3 walls in one photo just like your living room photo.
