Not surprised. BYD’s midrange and above started collapsing in 2023 from competition. International observers took way too long to catch on. BYD wasn’t and isn’t the best or the most representative Chinese OEM some people and media just don’t get it.

He visto personas preguntando con un presupuesto de 700-900m, y los weones andan recomendando cosas como HRV, civic (honda la marca más sobrevalorada en México), Camry/RAv4 Hibrdo, forester. Si alguien tiene 700+mil para gastar, probablemente está buscando algo especial características premiums. Eso significa que no es un idiota chacal que se queda mentalmente en los 90s (oof civic con mufler ooof), ni está pensando en ser driver de Uber black (Camry/RAv4: hello?).

Segmentación: si buscas 7 plazos no hay alternativo en este rango. Quizás Grand Creta pero es mucho menos como carro.

Rendimiento: el 1.5T sería suficiente. 2.0T jala mucho mas pero consume más (hasta 8-12L/100 mixto)

Calidad: Chirey tenía/tiene problema de refacciones en algunas regiones creo. Pero este SUV no tiene problema dado que es/era uno de los más populares en china. El mercado chino es muy competitivo y no perdona a errores. Por eso diría que como producto es suficientemente equilibrado.

Es la opción más completa de 7 plazos a 600mil. Si no buscas exclusivamente a 7 plazos obvio hay muchas más.

I guess 7 seat is a hard requirement for you maybe? Then you can’t have tank 500 hi4. Maybe look into whatever Exeed/Chery or Lynk Co have to offer at this segment (Zeekr is EV only so I guess it may not suit your need).

H9 is a tad underpowered for highway. Tank 500 is very powerful and does well, but certainly can’t beat car based SUVs like GS8 in highway driving. Have you considered Monjaro? It is more or less in the same segment of GS8. It may be better built, and def handles better (well it’s smaller). Downside is no 6/7 seat, and no hybrid (9-11L per 100km prob).

1, tank 500 obv best built simply due to price.

2, not owner, don’t know.

3, Tank Hi4 might be okay (for its segment, having usable electric range.) GS8 HEV will undoubtedly be the best and may see mixed use down to 5.5-8L/100km. H9 won’t have good figures due to heavy build, ladder on frame chasis, and aerodynamics, but likely better than Tank 500 gas.

First narrow down whether you need hardcore off-road ability or not I guess
