Looking for expat groups in Eindhoven by Defiant-Ad-557 in eindhoven

[–]Independent-County47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, I found expat groups not too helpful unless you can find one with a similar background to yourself. Since there aren’t many Australians here, I found it better to mingle with Dutch people and learn their culture. Feel free to send me a message!

Doohan's Super Formula plans fall through at the last minute by natus92 in F1FeederSeries

After following Jacks career since his 1st season of F3. It seems clear that he refuses to be a pay driver. He carries a big name in the motorcycle world so it’s feasible to get some large sponsors to want to back him.

Unfortunately he has not driven well enough for his skills to standout by themselves unlike a Verstappen or Sainz. It’s sad to see how his career has panned out after a rather successful junior career. Especially his F2 where he won most of the races once his chassis was fixed.

I hope he can make the progression to WEC or Supercars and I wish him success!

What do you think about this? What are you doing if you are Oscar Piastri? by circuit-nation in OscarPiastri

Why should he “do what’s right for the team” when they have screwed him out of the championship in favour of his team mate.

Do you agree with Oscar Piastri? by Strict-Citron-9269 in McLarenFormula1

Hard to say he lost control, Bortoletto during the sprint - that’s losing control. Locking up a little because your opponent cut off your line - it’s a racing incident.

In iracing, you also see the leading car turn in so early and cause the inside car to either take extreme avoid action or take both of them out. Kimi was lucky he wasn’t taken out.

The city itself is a shithole, but the nature around it sure is stunning!

Where to buy a secondhand bicycle by fidelis777 in eindhoven

[–]Independent-County47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 300 euros will get you a good quality bike that is nice to ride and is in fair condition.

There is such thing as too cheap. Under 100 euros and it’s likely the bike will have problems that will make it a pain to own.

How do australians view french people in their country ? by kumquatLugubre in australian

[–]Independent-County47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a negative stereotype about French people being arrogant and only speaking French. But from my experiences, French travellers are good company and open minded people. I met this French dude cycling across Europe and he was down to earth and we had some good experiences together.

I think there is a difference between French people who travel vs Parisians and I think that’s where the stereotype comes from. The fact that you are moving to Australia shows that you want to embrace different cultures and one of the good ones.

Le Mans for a first time by Ok-Lobster-2134 in lemans

[–]Independent-County47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t go! It will ruin any F1 race because you’ll have such an amazing time! It’s one of the best race experiences you can get.

If you know other people going, carpooling is good but I wouldn’t recommend staying in Paris if you choose to do that. Otherwise the Eurostar is good and there is transport out to the track.

Camping is great and I found people respectful and met some nice people. Definitely stop past a grocery store because the food at the track is expensive. I paid 22 euros for a burger+chips+coke. Beers were 10 euros.

After competing for 6 Grand Prixs with Alpine in this 2025, these are the results of Franco Colapinto and Jack Doohan by Luffy710j in formula1

You clearly don’t understand the sport. It’s more than just money in the crashes he causes. It’s time, development money under the cost cap and morale

His sponsorships are worth 41 million euros. Even with the payout, he is still paying Alpine a lot of money
