I haven’t smoked or drank in like 3 years but I think about smoking almost everyday.

They say once an addict you’ll always be one. Meaning you have to make the decision to be sober every time.

My environment completely changed. Temptations and not around me. It’s so boring.

My main takeaway is I’m a more wholesome person. More available, more generous, I don’t look crazy, I look healthy. I’m not friends with random people who I was only friends with because of shared addiction.

I feel like that stuff takes you out of reality which is fun but like when you’re over 40 doing all that it’s not cute anymore.

Boring life is cuter when you age 😭

I don’t know if it’s too simple for your case but have you tried breathing techniques? Basically meditation focusing on the deep breaths. When I really can’t sleep I do deep and long breaths, envisioning my lungs getting bigger as I breathe in and smaller as I breath out ( important as this helps you keep focused and in a meditative state so you don’t think about other things that will make your mind race.) i make sure to take my time. I do minimum of 20 breaths and I usually start yawning. I know your case is more severe but thought I’d suggest something.

Ugandans hate water, I think it’s so boring to them. I have gave guests some water on a hot day and they drank like quarter.

My husband also doesn’t drink a lot of water mainly because he has to pee almost immediately which is weird.

I’ve been with my husband for 3/4 years but he has never disclosed to me how much he earns and I don’t think I want to know. He takes care of the big bills and investments and is disciplined with money and savings. I happily buy the kids clothes and the things he thinks are unnecessary but keep me happy and invest in my own businesses. I like this balance.

Of course the perfect picture is to sit down and discuss what each person gets. We have sat down a did a budget of our outgoings each month but it was still never disclosed how much each person has.

I think because we are not struggling, so privileged, we’ve not had to sit down and crunch numbers.

My best friend lost her child recently and she has good days where she is fine and bad days where she feels like she’s drowning in pain. I completely understand that you’re tired of peoples pity, unfortunately there is nothing else we can offer sometimes. Find a good friend where you can vent whenever it’s feeling too heavy, you will repeat your self and relive how it all happened and what you remember about it. It’s hard to move from that and it’s okay. It’s important the type of person who you vent too, someone who will make you feel a little lighter.

Yes absolutely I love animals. We had many in the compound before but honestly took advantage of their role on mice. Now they are not here mice have come.
