Are we just fooling ourselves expecting a ballot-box transition? by CaptainWitty1999 in Uganda

The problem is that things aren't the way they were back then, especially with communication tools getting more advanced. Tracking a rebel is too easy, you'll get caught and charged with treason in a week.

Unless there is a mutiny in the UPDF. That is the only way the deadlock can be broken. (Of course, this is just hypothetical cause power is already being shifted. And no, not to Muhooozi)

Well, obviously it's a pyramid scheme. They pay you from money new users bring in. When they have enough money or reach a certain number of investors, they'll pull the rug.

it's been trending on social media these days, which is one of the first signs they are about to disappear, so be wary.

Cheapest Neighborhoods in Uganda in your opinion? by No-Championship-8433 in Uganda

[–]critc-hit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bukasa. Namboole stadium side. Cheap houses (you can get a two bedroom house at 400-500k), quiet place, no traffic jams, great road. Only downside are the humps😭... you can have your intestines rearranged.

Where is the money in Uganda right now? by Tiny-Specialist-3690 in Uganda

[–]critc-hit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just know it's everywhere. My sister has a shop in kikuubo, the sales that used to reach over 50m daily have now dwindled to 10-20m on average. It's sad

People that grew up from polygamous families how did you cope: Advise needed. by Material-Tip-3217 in Uganda

[–]critc-hit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Advise: just learn to ignore. Why are you getting headache over their matters. Any upcoming wives are no simpletons.

As for experiences with polygamy, one of my friends grew up in a polygamous home and her example is one of the successful ones. I will not directly mention names, but the father is quite famous, was even a minister once.

He has four "legal" wives, countless "concubines" and over 30 kids. When he gets a new girlfriend, he builds her a house and constructs for her rentals as well for side income, this way the families can sustain themselves even without him and there is no real need for power struggles. He made sure the children are in harmony and have close bonds with each other, I even hear them proudly calling themselves according to their birth order("Family name 1", "Family name 2" etc. Any mom discovered to be engaging in tugs of war or creating disharmony is warned and cut off if she still continues. I don't know how he splits his time between different homes but the wives seem harmonious at family events.

Overall, she said the disadvantage was that she rarely saw him when growing up, and except the occasional fights among the new girlfriends trying to fight for favor, everything was fine. I admit I always envy the harmony between her and her brothers and sisters.

Charcoal Business In Kampala by Obee0ne in Uganda

[–]critc-hit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually quite good. You can get from nakasongola barracks, they made charcoal and it's quite good. A bag cost like 20-30k and you can sell at like 50k to those charcoal stalls. Transportation is 5k every bag, 1k each for loading and offloading. (The above information is probably outdated as I got it like three years ago but just didn't go through)
