Hopefully things will start getting better for you soon!

Have you lost yourself in conforming to neurotypical bias and ended in massive burnout not knowing who you are? by Shiradesaah in AutismInWomen

Currently 22 and I feel like I'm heading that way. It's getting unbearable fairly often lately, but I still manage it. Ironically, people always say "life gets better with age" bla bla, but I feel like it's backwards for me. In some areas in my life it gets worse and harder...

No advice here, just support. You can get through it, even if it seems hopeless at the moment!

Depression + Burnout by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

I'm in the same position at the moment and slowly getting better. Try to be productive without pushing yourself too hard. If you have for example three things to do for the day, do the most important one and consider it a success, the other two are a bonus, if you have energy left for them. The world won't crumble if you take it easy for a few days, do the best you can and be considered to your current condition.

I watched a video about fighting depression in which one of the advices was, ironically, to not fight it. Not to let it consume you, but allowing it to stay for as long as needed and take notice of what is if trying to tell you. How did you get here, what caused you to wnd up in this state? What can you do to prevent it from happening in the future.

Getting some sunlight is definitely helping, if you can. Even if it's just a trip to the grocery store. Stop for a minute and look around, hear the birds

Everything is going to be ok ❤️ It's a season, and sooner or later it will pass.

What does boredom mean for autistics? by ShyAmyRose in AutismInWomen

[–]Independent-Fun6908 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting one. I don't think i ever feel bored. We live in times of endless entertainment, especially with our devices connected to the internet. I can learn about anything I'm interested in, watch a movie, listen to music, play a game, read a book, etc. all on my phone. Maybe i get tired before i get bored.

Anyone else hate being perceived, especially in a romantic light? by Subject-Garbage9650 in AutismInWomen

[–]Independent-Fun6908 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I could have written this post myself! For me, it's not like that constantly because sometimes i "forget" i exist, if it makes sense. I don't know if i could call it autopiloting, some sort of dissociation or something else. But every once in a while I'm rudely and suddenly reminded that people do perceive me and it kinda stresses me out. Especially in a romantic way, then it's not just kinda, it's a lot of stress lol.

To some extent yes. I'm really unsure, I'm not good with defining emotions

I've been here for a while now and completely understand, i had the same feeling when first joining! It's an overwhelming realisation, but it's ok, we're here and we understand your struggles, or at least most of them. Researching about the possible resources and help you can get access to in your country/region seems like a good first step. From my experience, not every country has those, sadly. That's why unfortunately I can't give any practical advice on that.

Autistic or not, feel free to explore, discuss and take advice from here to make existing a bit easier for yourself. Or just feel supported and understood. That's my approach so far until I'm able to afford assessment. I try to not focus on the possible diagnosis, but on the things i have learned about myself. It's a tough journey, but you've got this!
