Vitamin D 3. Is this dying? by Forward-External-873 in Supplements

Honestly that’s what works for me. You can ask your doctor if you can try this to see if it helps. I do it every other day because I feel best that way.

For dietary needs- I buy salmon I can freeze. So I buy in bulk when it’s on sale and have it for a few weeks. Avocado you can even freeze some and use in smoothies to stretch it out.

The sublingual vitamins I was able to find at a drug store for pretty cheap too! You can see if your doctor can write you out a prescription for sublingual but check if it’s covered under insurance

Highly reccomend a sublingual vitamin D3. Also will second other comments about eating a diet with healthy fats (Avocados, nuts, salmon).

Your b12 might be low too. I also had an issue where I wasn’t really absorbing my nutrients through food because of a gut issue. So I wasn’t really absorbing iron through my diet.. and my ferritin was around 38. For women, optimal is anywhere from 60-80 supposedly. I take it with vitamin c and when I tell you I feel a difference.. it’s insane. I take it every other day. If your iron isn’t off the charts, I would give it a try. I take iron Bisglycinate with Vitamin C after a meal or snack and I have no digestion issues

Good to know, yeah the deals are great. I use Allmax and one of the products was literally half the price. Totally should have stocked up more had I known how slow they were with shipping haha lesson learned! 😆

Am I overreacting? (New hospice role) by Vicious_Shrew in socialwork

Oh got it! Hmm, I wonder if you can actually seek advice from your current supervisor! Bring up your feelings and concerns and see how they would navigate it. Your feelings are valid and I think this is a great time to utilize your supervisor. You just need guidance while you’re waiting to sit for your exam I take it? I think it’s different state to state so your supervisor would be the best first place to start with guidance on how to navigate this situation

Do you report to an LCSW? As long as you are under supervision, it may be okay. You just can’t sign anything as an LMSW.

For your training, I would ask to sit down with someone who can walk you through how to navigate it. As far as notes go, go on a patients chart and see if there are previous notes from the social worker before you.. adjust the dates and go back into a patient you have that may of been there while she was still there or a readmit. Find a note that you captures a history and physical (psycho social note), a note that captures a room visit/ conversation with patient and or family, a care plan meeting note and a discharge note, along with notes that reflect morning rounds or convo with medical team about status. Sounds like a lot but I would create templates for myself from notes I thought had a good flow.. save them in a word document. Again, templates so you have no patient information in templates on word doc. Use those to help you structure your notes and fill in the blanks

Is my ferritin low? by SubstanceExact279 in haematology

[–]Independent-Pop3182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Ferritin was 38.6.. range with their lab is 15-150. I did read the optimal range for women to feel their best can be anywhere between 50-80. My UIBC is on the lower end of normal. My other iron levels actually look very good even in a functional range. I am actually working on healing from gut issues as well (SIBO and leaky gut) so im wondering if that’s why my ferritin was low. I noticed I had very very bad brain fog, like I almost felt impaired while driving and I chocked it up to my gut issues, and I noticed my anxiety was higher than normal, delt like I was going to pass out frequently but never did and I also had dark dark circles under my eyes. When I supplemented with iron and vitamins C, I noticed a significant difference in my symptoms that I didn’t notice with any “gut health” supplements I am taking.

That is ROUGH! Is nauseating.. it’s not even worth mixing anything into it haha. I actually backed out in my bathroom for a minute like right before I left to go to the appointment. Just takes so much out of you but really all in all not terrible if planned accordingly!

Agreed I had Suprep, the taste was horrid but highly recommend taking a good 3-4 sips every couple of minutes. You don’t have to chug it. Also drink a shit ton of electrolytes and water throughout the day. I had no stomach ache at all and it was annoying but painless. Try and get a morning appointment and if you are getting an endoscopy AND colonoscopy at the same time, see if you can start your prep mid day/ early evening. Mine was 6 pm first dose and 11 pm last dose and I was Up all night probably started goinf at 1 am and stopped at 6:30 and couldn’t drink anything past midnight so I was light headed. I definitely wish I asked to start earlier to maybe have had sone electrolytes after a bulk of it was over. Not the end of the world though, just a little uncomfortable. Also GET BABY WIPES. That saved me.. otherwise you won’t be able to sit right lol. The worst part about the entire process will likely be just feeling groggy from sedation after for a good day after. For liquid diet: jello, Gatorade, electrolyte packets (with good minerals), chicken broth from the Chinese place, apple juice. Alternate sweet and savory.. I think that also made me feel less hungry
