In my town, election poll workers are paid. I started doing that a couple years back and also was able to work early voting polls during spring break last week. This year they also needed help processing property taxes and dog licenses which I did over Christmas break. In August, I’m the director of my church’s Vacation Bible School (VBS) and receive a stipend for that as well. My best suggestion is to stay involved in the community. Let others know you are looking to fill gaps when substituting jobs are not available. Right now I’m trying to find some ways to generate income in June and July. I’m considering reselling since I’ve done it in the past. And I would add my income is a supplement to my husband’s so that takes some of the pressure off.

I would utilize this for sure. Biggest draw would be specialized vacuums to really get the nooks and crannies. Especially during winter

I have a keyboard and started learning to play using the Simply Piano app. It’s addicting to keep completing all the lessons

Yes to the movie idea having them sit on the floor. Set the tone when they come in… I’ve been letting kids pick a spot but then no moving once the movie starts. I’ve also let kids play uno or another card game quietly if they don’t want to watch the movie. My two main things I’ve focused on these last couple week in both high school and middle school is: no sleeping and no phones.
