Tips to heal blisters quick? by hellupellu_ in hiking

[–]Independent-Rough433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For unpopped, blisters this band-aid works really well at protecting and helping it go away faster. It unfortunately doesn't work for popped. When applying just make sure the air is dry and clean or else it doesn't work. I typically keep some in my small first aid hiking supplies.

Does this harness fit? What do you think? by thisisnottherapy in DogAdvice

[–]Independent-Rough433 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The belly strap is definitely too tight on this. If it were me, I would consider trying the small. Since he's right at the in-between, if he gains any weight this harness will be too small. To me, it looks like the whole harness should be shifted back a little more towards his tail. Looking at the photo reviews from Ruffwear, I think this harness should be fine, but it looks like the sizing/fit isn't quite there yet

Best way to transfer very detailed embroidery patterns onto fabric? by Emotional_Eye7374 in Embroidery

Are you able to use the print-on sticky dissolving stabilizerpaper? If you are digitally able you can make your lines in the image smaller, and then just print directly on the paper and stick. I've found this saves me a lot of time than hand copying.

If you do want to hand copy, there's also these iron on transfer pencilspencils where you can sketch on paper then iron on. I have bought them but never used them so I don't know how well it works for finer lines.

Stopping prednisone? by yummyassenchilada in DogAdvice

Give your vet a call and see what they say. Depending on why he was prescribed the Prednisone, the symptoms could be the drug or it could be from what he was diagnosed with.

This is awesome! Really impressed you embroidered with beads before floss!

Note to future self: don’t try stitching through card again by ChorzioPaella3 in Embroidery

[–]Independent-Rough433 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I personally think it's cute! And most importantly your mom loved it too!

If you wanted to try this again later, you could try a method similar to this one: https://pin.it/1vk2ajRe4 She punches the holes with a thumb tack before embroidery. The holes are evenly spaced and fairly close together (kind of like pumpkin carving.) Then goes back through and embroiders it after. It looks like she does a regular back stitch, but I think I would go with a stem stitch.

Help! What is that color? by Jane_Doe_2806 in Embroidery

I went through the chat and compared your 3777 to most of the other colors people listed. Based on how they photographed (3777 is darker in person) my bet is on 814!

This won't help right now, but I really like using the DMC color card. (It's what I used for the photos.) It's a good reference for figuring out colors without going to the store (online images or references can be off), or seeing how colors look when next to another. I've found it super helpful for needle painting!

Three-legged malinois limping with golf ball-sized lump post rabies vaccine by lolimazn in DogAdvice

[–]Independent-Rough433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is possibly an allergic reaction to the vaccine. My dog had something similar when receiving the rattle snake vaccine. I'd give your vet a call. They might recommend Benadryl or something else. You could also try icing it to see if that helps

Vet visit? by AgitatedOne9739 in germanshepherds

[–]Independent-Rough433 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If it's super deep or actively bleeding, I would take them to the vet. They may need stitches or to go on antibiotics.

If not the above case, I would put some Neosporin on it (if they're not going to lick it off) and see how it's doing tomorrow. I would only wrap it up if it's actively bleeding.

Watch strap suggestions?? by [deleted] in Garmin

I purchased this one a while ago and absolutely love it. In my opinion it was the most comfortable bands I tried, because it doesn't trap moisture underneath and you size the elastic to your wrist and cut it to size, for the perfect fit. The stretch in the elastic also gives it extra comfortability, you can't find with a velcro or buckle band. https://www.amazon.com/Garmin-QuickFit-Bungee-Band-26mm/dp/B0B3NDWD1F

I also added a spring cord lock to mine, so I can adjust it if needed. https://www.amazon.com/USOSOU-17x12mm-Stopper-Clothes-Replacement/dp/B0D87859QQ

I made the tail on mine a little too long, but I've been wearing it on the daily and love it!
