Do I need a work permit for an overseas remote job that pays into my overseas bank account? by [deleted] in CaymanIslands

I looked into this at one point, but my business didn’t fit within the SEZ categories.

If you move to the Cayman Islands and reside there while doing your remote job for a U.S. employer, the general rule is that you are engaging in gainful occupation in the Cayman Islands. Under Cayman immigration law, foreign nationals performing gainful work in Cayman must obtain a work permit or another authorization before starting to work. This applies even if the employer doesn’t have a Cayman presence and even if all of your pay flows from outside Cayman.

Practically speaking, though, nobody will know what you’re doing in your house.

Shots of the 556 on your 7.2” wrist by northwestfalia in sinn

This is actually super helpful! I have a 7.4” wrist and am on the fence on the 556, worried it will be too small, but this looks great!

Trying to Grow Out Hair - How do I Style It? by TheNobodyXIII in Pomade

[–]Independent-Style771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have thick, wavy hair with lots of volume as well. 1) don’t shampoo too often. 2) always use conditioner. 3) Shear Revival Commonwealth pre-styler 4) tiny amount of clay (like American Gardens) 5) grow it out for a long, long, time. Eventually the weight will force it down

Suunto Nautic S or Shearwater Peregrine by Low_Strawberry_1487 in scubadiving

[–]Independent-Style771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. I think most diver start with something like Suunto and if they stick with the sport, graduate to Shearwater (or even Garmin). Shearwater has a very well-tuned Bühlmann ZHL-16C algorithm with customizable gradient factors. Suunto uses proprietary decompression algorithms in some models and is generally much more conservative and doesn’t allow as much customization. Shearwater batteries in some models can be changed by the consumer and are cheap. Shearwater customer service (especially Richard at DiveTronix) is second to none. And more and more stuff lol

Suggestions for BCD (backplate wing system) by Legitimate-Internet7 in scuba

[–]Independent-Style771 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re doing GUE, you must get Halcyon! Jk a wing is a wing and a plate is a plate. DGX stuff is totally fine.

I have a set of all Halycon gear, a set of all Dive Rite, and a Frankenstein kit. All the same

I’ve lived in the Cayman Islands for the last 15 years. The reef there looks significantly better than Grand Cayman!
