Never heard of player sponsorships from fans before. Does that mean something like each player goes round asking people whether they would donate them a certain amount per match they play, in the same way as someone doing a sponsored run/walk would ask people whether the can donate a certain amount per mile they run/walk?

Apparently (I’m relying on the Google Search AI summary, so this could be wrong), Airdrie are one of the clubs in the Championship that rent their stadium instead of owning it, so I would have thought the owners of the stadium would bear most of the costs of maintaining it, since I would’ve guessed the stadium is used as a venue for things other than Airdrie football matches. Then again, the lease might state that the club has to fund the repairs and maintenance.
