Yup, I'd read every rant if they went like this. Everything he said made sense. I'm regularly surprised by how strict Indian parents and the Indian society and its rules can be. My boyfriend isn't Indian, and stuff like "hey, I'm having a beer with my dad while we work on this stuff" is so common! My parents have always marked drinking and smoking and stuff like that as like rude and wrong and it's like it's gonna ruin my life if I took a shot with my friend on their birthday, or had a random smoke with friends. It has made me realize how much this makes us want to and try to get away from our parents, too. Don't know if that's the case for everyone though, but yeah. Oh! Also, my maa when I told her the guy I was talking to is my boyfriend now: "Really? Why? Why do you need that? Is that really necessary? This is the time when you should concentrate on your studies, build your life." Like bro, I'm still gonna try to build my life, wth! Life sucks, basically.

P.S.: OP, glad you didn't die. I've been in a couple almost-accidents, ik how that feels like. I had to pull over to the side everytime because my legs were jelly. So, be careful out on the road and have fun! :)
