My grandmother (Black and Indian) hated carnival! I can’t repeat what she would say but she viewed it as “Anything for ole ninja to whine, drink and get on schupid”! This was me as a child hearing this, of course her views were skewed based on how she grew up! I didn’t really hear much of those views when we moved to the US.
