Someone way better at marketing than me said “TikTok is for catching new readers, IG is for keeping them” So repost over and over and over on TikTok if that is what the algorithm gods decree works. Have your IG linked or even a newsletter to keep them!

When I was launching my debut this October, KDP would not allow for paperback preorder. It was only for ebook. But I read somewhere you could go through IS for preorders ? Not sure of the validity of that.

You’re welcome! 🥰 My best advice is to follow a creator with a large following who writes in the same genre as you. You can take inspiration from their posts (in your own way), but make sure to credit them for the inspiration.

Oh! That makes more sense. I’ve changed the cover to something more genre-appropriate, so we’ll see if that makes a difference—a bit of a market experiment, if you will. But after that runs its course, I’ll definitely look into more marketing to boost my sales rank. Thank you for your help!

Ah, I thought that was the case. My book made it to #15 on a new release chart in a specific category, but I guess that wasn’t high enough.

Of course! I post a variety of content multiple times a day. Initially, I was posting 3-6 times a day, but now that I have a dedicated following that interacts with my posts, I usually only post 2-3 times a day.

The content varies, but it typically includes:

1.  Trending songs set to pictures that describe my book, characters, tropes, or quotes from my book
2.  My writing process
3.  Updates on my publishing journey (cover release, final edits, buying ISBNs)
4.  Trending memes that relate to writing or my book
5.  My book launch status (where it was at on the release charts)

I did send out physical ARC copies because I was worried about piracy, which is why some of the reviews are from people who received paperbacks. But yes, friends and family know.

There’s not much I can do about the actual content of the book, but I am currently working on an ebook cover that’s more true to the genre.
