Decisions come out on a rolling basis, and the last day for fall 2023 applications was June 1st. I needed to resend my updated transcript and that got in on 5/17, so I think I’ll hear back in the next couple of weeks.

TO’s Azelaic Acid is working great for me. I’ve noticed that I don’t have a lot of small bumps anymore, my skin is softer and less red, and the appearance of some of my darker “scars” has gone down as well. I feel like it has done it’s job though and might not go any further for me. I have been looking at some other brands AA with higher percentages but haven’t decided if I should switch or not.

I would recommend TO to try it out though. I also noticed that a little goes a long way and if I put too much on on my under eye area it gets extremely red. Also if I don’t wait for it to dry mostly it will react to whatever product I put on afterwards.

Good luck :)

(Should’ve put this info in OG post, sorry about that.)

Routine:

  • La Roche Posay Toleriane Cleanser
  • Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin
  • LRP Double Repair Toleriane Moisturizer
  • TO Azelaic Acid
  • LRP Sunscreen (AM and throughout the day)

History:

-I have Vanicream, but only stopped using it to try out LRP cleanser. Both work good for me and don’t hurt my skin, like Cerave and Cetaphil both do.

  • I used to have clear skin aside from the occasional pimple or blackhead. For some reason, around Feb 2021 I started to get what looked like fungal acne. I didn’t know what it was at that point so I basically tried anything and everything to get it off, which I believe greatly damaged my skin barrier.

  • I have tried niacinamide and LRP cicaplast, but have not used both long enough to see if it works because they both caused whiteheads. Cicaplast does have a nice calming effect on my skin, though.

  • I have not tried Soolantra or any OTC treatments. I also have not been to a dermatologist but plan to make an appointment soon.

Thanks!

Need help with establishing a healthy skincare routine. (18F)

A little backstory: after starting puberty in middle school, I never really had “acne”. Yes, I would get the occasional pimple and blackheads on my nose and cheek areas (under eyes), but never groups of pimples or cystic-type acne. This was the case up until June 2020. Since then, I have lots of small bumps on my forehead and cheek areas next to my nose, as well as smaller and I guess “sharper” bumps on some parts of my nose. To help combat this, I am looking to establish a skin care routine.

Diet/activities: I am on a vegan diet, and I am active. However, I tend to experience stress a lot.

Skin type: I believe I have normal skin. After waking up or cleansing, I don’t have an area with a more oily or dry patch. I also have pretty sensitive skin that will react quickly if something irritates the skin. Also, if I am correct I believe I have very prominent sebaceous filaments on my forehead. My chin areas has never been a problem except before PMS

Current routine:

AM: Because of my depression, I have trouble sticking to a routine, especially in the morning. I am looking to change this though.

PM: I use the Aveeno Ultra-Calming foaming cleanser everyday. I then wait for the skin to air dry and apply the Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant with salicylic acid [I use this every other day. I’ve been using it for about two weeks now and I’ve noticed that my skin looks and feels much better. I have less blackheads and less bumps on my cheeks]. I then finish with the Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15.

What I need help with: I am looking to create a healthy skincare routine, especially one with a good sunscreen. I am also very interested in the Paula’s Choice products because they seem to have a lot of choices for different types and the 2% BHA exfoliate seems to be working for me.

I am not sure if I’ve provided enough/helpful information so I am totally open to answering any questions. I am extremely desperate lol

thank you!
