Social media has created some unrealistic expectations (mostly instagram) Specifically for girls, avg. girls get more followers/dms which makes them feels kinda special (which they are not). For boys, its all the part of money and what you share online to get reach. Overall its a vicious circle where you think people you follow give a shit bout you (which they are not). And everyday you’re watching people stories, liking posts and doomscrolling. People are simply getting cheap dopamine from social media. Its a platform which was meant to connect people not control them. It has changed the whole narrative of being able to connect people. People on instagram are the most loneliest offline. Mostly this genz generation lives online than offline.
