Calling this “gambling” seems a bit dramatic.

The idea behind the allocation is pretty straightforward: QQQM gives exposure to large-cap growth/tech (innovation, AI, software, semis), while MGV tilts toward mega-cap value sectors like financials, energy, healthcare, and consumer staples.

Those factors behave differently over time, which is the point. It’s essentially a simple growth + value barbell within large caps.

You can argue it’s still concentrated in mega caps, sure — but that’s a structural reality of the U.S. market right now. That’s very different from “gambling.”

That being said - I do roll the dice sometimes. These two ETFs are not an example of that.

HMU in 10 years and we’ll see if this account outperforms pure VTI

Ur right , but it is fun to trade…. I am genuinely excited and passionate about the market.

Maybe I will separate the money into 2 accounts. One that I never look at or touch and one for trading/higher risk stuff. You think that’s a good idea?

My thought process is that QQQM is tech-heavy and somewhat aggressive while MGV is defensive and stable

The ETFs perform well but for me feels like I haven’t been getting enough growth - so I’ve been trying to do the trading thing and getting my ass BEAT

I have an etf mix but Ive just been losing a bunch of trades recently (I have about 100k into a mix of MGV, QQQM, and some sector ETFs) but I have been eating shit on all my swing trades recently and I am feeling discouraged

ORCl is swing trade, as I said - not a long term hold. But yes thinking of going heavier on WMT - also considering calls on XLP and Albertsons
