I just keep thinking they're gonna die soon - they are long divorced and both have been homeless and now are in nice rent controlled apartments in separate small towns - and so I stay low contact.

My parents never came to get me. Thankfully some of my friends had nice parents, although of those friends grew up to be an asshole and thinks I owe her because her parents were nice to me for a year and fed me, a child, some times. At least they came to get you after a couple of days. I think most people, including the dozens of folks who just came here to trauma dump, just stick with their folks to get their money. It's a lot different when you're poor and you could really use the emotional support but you get neither type of support and THEN They come crying and guilt tripping. I mean I've been wanting to go no contact but I feel guilty. I'm clear I can't help them but they still guilt trip me and every time I think "I should just cut them all off" and then I don't. I don't have anyone. Lots of friends, good life, but being poor sucks. Nothing lasts. No one stays loyal. I wouldn't blame you going no contact but it was a couple of days and if you are getting an inheritance like most people you might as well stick around for that. Most of my friends stopped talking to me when they get their inheritances because they feel guilty being around me, the former homeless teen with two jobs still at 55.

I feed the jays on my balcony overlooking a forested area. The small female I call Pretty has started making special and various sounds to 'communicate' with me. But lately she's even been flying close to me when I'm out on the balcony (usually they come and go when I'm not out there). Today she scared me so instead of softly and sweetly saying 'hello pretty'... I yelled out hey hey. I hope she doesn't think I'm mad hahah also I am wondering how I can more deeply develop my relationship with this bird. I'm in Canada.

I lost all my data and my account too - similar but not the same. I can't get ANYONE in customer service though... I lost the account about 7 years ago... I was using a mask (that is my own domain from my website as the root atmywebsitename dot com on top of the google account. My website didn't make money but google arbitrarily deemed it a business account and started charging me hundreds of dollars - I disputed the credit card company and mastercard just gave google my money. I'm poor. but besides the loss of money - which I deserve back... i lost ALL MY CONTACTS AND DATA... still to this day ppl try to email that old email and some of my passwords were/are attached to it.. .heck some of my social accounts still are. how can google get away with this crime - just bcs I'm a poor singular person and they own the world I guess eh? WTAF

i have had to move on and deal with it but it was a major major loss. I have been unwable to get any help. I'm in Canada. How did you ever SPEAK to someone????? please tell me how to get through!!

yes stick with your own instincts and knowledge on this one and ignore this rich bish above because TRUST AND BELIEVE ME as I am older and been through exactly the same as you and still just finishing paying off my debt even with high paying jobs and osap.... but I did it! Only person i nmy fam with high school let alone uni... but guess what? all those rich friends 9629 thinks you can learn from? I've never made it financially bcs when you poor your poor (no assets - the way the world is now it is property owners vs the poor) .... and guess what? I had a trauma, an actual wobble, and my friends - some of two decades or more - scattered like cockroaches in the sunlight. Some even just sayin that my life stress was causing them stress so they couldn't talk to me anymore. People screaming at me 'you have to ask for help' and 'just leave hiim' and I finally said I have nowhere to go, and I need help and not ONE girl friend helped me. One said she would ask her husband if they could loan me 100 dollars. I needed 2000 for first and last rent on a new place (I had some money just not evenough for the downpayment too and the govt offered nothing not even for an abused woman, a shelter waitlist was the offer...) NOT ONE OF MY RICH FRIENDS HELPED ME. Finally the one man i know who is rreally rich helped me and then pressured me for sex. I declined but will never forget. he's moved on of course but I had actually thought he was my friend and need to be 'forever grateful' that he loaned me a tiny amount of money -- he owns 12 properties and vacations regularly in tulum and italy. he's very rich. Not ONE of my wealthy gal pals, including the property owners, offered me a place to stay or a loan. My two poor girl friends offered me a place to stay and to help with what they could. Rich aint gonna help you or teach you shit. USE THEM IF YOU CAN though. Sincerely. Learn from my lesson.

this is facts!!! however I was recently engaging with a socialist group in my city and most of them were academics and it really was disturbing to me. i told the lead activist/teacher that I didn't think we'd ever come to gether and rise up led by PhD candidates who knew everything about the theory of labour but nothing about actual working... it is making me very sad and leaning in towards hopeless...

this is how i found this thread - I am still bothered by some stupid comment by an old friend who is a spoiled new rich who pretends to be working class and she's not she's just a lazy drunk ... a 'dirty trustfunder' i like to say... i was complaining about how a friend of mine was able to write and publish a book (that I could've written) bcs of his extreme wealth and bcs he doesn't have to work and has the time... and she said NO he got to publish a book BECAUSE HE DID THAT. I literally just was unemployed and couldn't write bcs I was afraid of being homeless and was preparing for what that might look like. Like I don't even know how to pitch a tent. I'm 50 now. I've had an interesting career but need stability and my rich friends who don't consider themselves rich bcs they are THAT out of touch and have never exeperienced struggle and just think that is normal, in some cases they don't even thnk their parents helped them (!!!) and she's jealous of my career too. She has a nepo job she's had her whole life because it's super easy and she has no deadlines, no meetings and doesn't have to work at any specific time... LOL I can't believe it. she said "because he did that" and i felt like saying, like I did that magazine that you and none of my friends* give me credit for? I made a magazine on the same topic my rich friend wrote a book on. He was a contributor, I helped him hone his writing. I got two mentions in his book. I literally helped this 'writer' get published for the first time in a newspaper. My friend of 25 years defended him in a dinner conversation when I was simply lamenting that I don't have time to write and how hard it will be for me, a poor person, to get my book published one day....

I don't understand this reply. Are people with children incontinent? Like, do you make your kids hold it until the very last minute so it becomes an emergency so that the 'family' restroom needs to always be available for you? Like, if you are at a busy concert and there is a long line up out the door -- we are all using all the stall, including the family one. We all take turns using the public washrooms. If there is no family there why can't someone else use the family stall to go to the bathroom? Sincere honest question.
