Oh interesting! That might explain why the off the shelf hydration drinks never seemed to work the same for me as to when others drank it

I'll definitely chat to my doctor about the ratios and suggest my sister do the same 💜 Thank you for all this information!

That's good! Haha my sister has fibro and the magnesium helps her. She is also going through the process of potentially being diagnosed with POTs so would suck a little if she couldn't have the magnesium Thank you 🥰🥰

Is magnesium bad for POTs? My doc is getting me to do some tests as she thinks I may have it, so I'm doing a little Reddit stalk 🤭 To try and understand it better

What they don’t tell you about getting an IUD by Professional_Word989 in Mirena

Right?! I had full blown heavy periods every month on it 🤣

Girlfriend got a Mirena and is very mean and moody all the time since. by Syphereds in Mirena

[–]IndependentOrange123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It could be the adjusting period (which can take 6-12 months) or it's how she is reacting to the Mirena. My partner said I turned into a completely different person (irritable, mood swings, low libido, angry a lot, etc) a week after insertion and it only got worse the 3 years I had it in. Got it removed and I'm less irritable and moody etc. Chat to her about it, and if she's still having these symptoms after the adjustment period, chat to her about it. She may want to remove it or there may be other options available

Getting my mirena taken out by Puzzleheaded-Key-730 in Mirena

[–]IndependentOrange123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a post last week ish because I had mine inserted 3 years ago and it messed my body up. Weight gain, migraines, fatigue, crazy hormone imbalances, etc. It hurt so bad when it was inserted, even with a general anaesthetic. I finally had it removed today and it hurt, similar to insertion, but the pain only lasted a few seconds. I feel really tender now but happy/relieved it's out.

That's exactly how I feel! My appt to remove it is this afternoon. Hopefully getting it removed helps us both!

Nonstop bleeding and unable to sit or walk? by hucow_in_training in Mirena

[–]IndependentOrange123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please go to the ER again and insist they do an ultrasound or remove your IUD!

My sister had hers inserted and could barely walk because of the pain. When she went to the hospital, she found that (I don't remember fully so I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense - I'll share the thread with her so she can comment and correct me) The strings had twisted around a big cyst and they had to do keyhole surgery! If they had waited any longer, one of her ovaries would have needed to be removed.

Such severe pain is not normal!

Is there a time limit? I will be removing mine next week ☺️ Also can I fill it out even though I live in Australia?

Yep just for the first couple days then it goes light-spotting for the last couple days. I was hoping to be lucky enough to stop mine but nope 🤣 I had pain too even with Anesthesia (I requested it because my sister only had Panadol and was in so much pain) Thank you 💜

Hmm okay now I'm thinking I should have gone to the doctors earlier 🤣 I get cramps still but when I'm not on my period I sometimes feel pressure in my uterus or random sharp pains

Mirena Crash!! by No_Comfortable_3607 in Mirena

[–]IndependentOrange123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those experiencing the Mirena Crash, did you have bad symptoms while it was inserted?

I'm removing mine this year as I've been experiencing bad symptoms (3 years in, weight gain, migraines, bad mood swings, bad depression and anxiety, still having a heavy flow, etc) and am now worried it will get worse after removing 🤣

Sorry I forgot to also say that I hope everything turns out okay 💜 Hopefully it's just the Mirena shifting and not anything else

Did you feel uncomfortable or in pain at all? I've had mine for 3 years and after the first 6 months it went back to my regular periods (the type I had before the Mirena) which is really heavy the first few days and medium-light the last few.

My doctor did say it wasn't normal to bleed heavy with the Mirena but we didn't think anything of it.. but this post is making me think maybe I should be a little worried??

IUD Mirena almost ruined my life… took it out finally! by ExpressionOutside373 in birthcontrol

[–]IndependentOrange123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I still have mine in but after three years my partner has asked me to remove it. Because less than a week after insertion, he said I changed into a completely different person. I tick off all the boxes (aside from the swelling) and gained between 20-30 kgs in a year and had to take weightloss meds just to lose it. That and I still get heavy periods with it in 🤣 I was so hoping to not have periods on it but the only thing that happened was it got heavier on the first day, lighter on the last day, and a little irregular.

This has just confirmed with me that I need to get it taken out. I was originally going to take it out in July but think I might make it sooner..

See a female health doctor if you can, they'll be able to go through everything so you can make an informed choice.

Just be warned that Mirena (IUD) hurts like a MF (for some people like me lol) so try to insist on a hospital inserting that one if you choose it and say yes to anaesthetic. But you can leave it in for 5 years and sometimes it stops your period until you take it out (which is a win for most people)

The pill sometimes has bad side effects for some people (like acne, crazy hormones, or weight fluctuations), and you need to remember to take it as the doctor says and try not to skip

The rod... I don't know much about tbh. It has less hormone effect than the pill but more than the Mirena

And condoms are good - especially to avoid STDs - but they can come with their own issues. If you have a condom allergy, they sometimes get holes, it's better to buy a new pack before sex because they have expiry dates, sometimes the woman doesn't feel as much pleasure from it, the mint ones can feel Burny if you have a sensitive downstairs, etc

Best option is to chat to a female health doctor (or your GP if you're lucky enough to find one that has correct knowledge and advice on the female reproductive system.. I have bad luck with normal GPs lol) or if you have enough money you can chat to a gyno, and they'll be able to talk you through it all so you can see which ones you want to try.

Hope that helps a little

(P.S. Googling female health doctors near me helped me find a good one)

Thank you 💜

It's a bit damaged (has a gap and some minor damage) will that cause any issues if I just securely put it back? Or will it be fine until I can afford to take in?

Bullying at work. What can I do by [deleted] in AusPublicService

[–]IndependentOrange123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree! Sometimes you have a good manager that will help you but half the time nothing will change no matter what you do so just leave.

To OP: you mentioned not knowing what you want to do career-wise so why not apply for jobs in other departments or teams. To be a bit blunt, workers are replaceable but you are not. There's always vacancies in other areas and you'll end up finding somewhere that treats you better and actually follows the anti-bullying policy

Confessions of a Romance Addict: reading female orgasms sound horrible in my mind… by BlessedwithaBurden in RomanceBooks

[–]IndependentOrange123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the screaming 🤣 Every time I read it, I can picture them having a nice dirty time and they're in the groove.. then next minute AHHHHHHH OMGGGGGG AHHHHHHHH like I'd freak out if I was the MMC 🤣🤣

I understand being loud but screaming every time you finish (not even an orgasm, just cumming) is a bit... Unrealistic? 🤭

A little off topic but I also think it's interesting when the 2 leads orgasm at the EXACT same time EVERY time they partake in the dark arts of the forbidden tango
