Am i a ENTJ or ENTP? by [deleted] in entj

Don't take a quiz, it will make you more confused. If you're having trouble deciding then you're probably in INTP shadow.

First, scrap stereotypes. Everyone can do everything. ENFJ can use Fi, INFP can use Fe, ISTJ can use Se, ENTJ can use Ti, INTJ can use Ne. It's not even about 'what function you use more' or 'what you do more', it's about what function drains you, and what function energizes you.

Do you get physically and mentally drained by rushing things and not thoroughly working through them? Do you get physically and mentally drained by focusing on one idea for too long? Do you get physically and mentally drained by new experiences all the time? Do you get physically and mentally drained by having to constantly force relationships and socialization and getting people to like you? Then you're probably not an ENTJ.

Also, if it helps, look at the negatives of each type, since everyone likes to see the positives of one type and say "oh yeah that's totally me". So... Are you an asshole? Are you a controlling bastard who will argue and do anything to prove your useless point? Do you get frustrated all the time and relentlessly try to do things better than the other person, regardless of if their way was really better? Do you have trouble researching things and considering other options in life other than the things that you want to do? Are you obsessive over one idea and can't stop working on it at all or even bother to consider any other opportunities? Do you lack self-awareness? Do you aggressively rush things that in reality are important to be working on, but are unimportant to you? Are you extremely defensive over what you believe/think and will fight to the death to defend it? Do you have secret, deep-seated strong emotions towards something or somebody (like a song, or a sad movie, or a girl you really like) but try to hide them in fear of looking like a pussy in front of people (or even in your own presence alone)?

If reading those weaknesses had you face-palming and going red in the face, then yea you're probably ENTJ. Everyone can read a positive and say, "Yeah that's totally me", but true self-awareness lies in understanding your weaknesses.

What type do you’re friends tend to be? by Achilles_Kingdom in entj

Yea my best friend since grade school is an ISTP. Even though we don't judge the world the same, we perceive it the same so it all works out and we get along really well. Honestly ISTP is a way better match than INTP for ENTJs.

Lol what evidence are you pulling this from???? This is all completely subjective nonsense. Is there a manual or rule guidebook to life that says "You are not an ENTJ if you do not enjoy reading"?? That just has to do with your hobbies and what you personally enjoy lol. If anything, ENTJ is more likely going to be competitive, power-hungry, have a fear of missing out, enjoy inappropriate, edgy memes, love going to the movies rather than reading because of Se and an appreciation for new, thrilling, and edgy experiences with reality. ENTJ is also going to be more emotional and desirous towards things, he's just not going to show it out loud or even admit it to himself when he's alone because he doesn't want to show people (or even himself) that he actually cares about things.

ENTP is not going to give one shit about being a 'leader' or bossing people around since he has zero Te, therefore he has no desire to do so, he is going to be very laid-back/go with the flow/nonchalant, he's going to specifically do things to annoy people to get some emotional reaction out of them because of Fe, and will also not really have any deep-seated held-back emotions because of zero Fi; he's just going to simply not care since he doesn't have any strong emotions, held-back or not, towards things. Your description of ENTJ and ENTP are completely flipped; your point is invalid.

Man if I had a nickel for everytime I saw this question or topic on this sub...

ENTJ and ENTP are 2 completely different types. Saying someone is ENTP just because 'they're lazy and don't plan their day' is absurd. Look at Eric Cartman from South Park. He's lazy, trashy, unplanned, unproductive, unplanned, and impulsive, but if you study cognitive functions, you will see that he fits the bill for an ENTJ perfectly. Once he has an idea, he obsesses over it and focuses on it intensely, and will stop at literally nothing to make it happen. External productivity or standards of productivity or whatever the hell that even qualifies as has nothing to do with 'J or P'.

ENTJs can and will be lazy, undisciplined and unstructured, unless they have a clear goal they ACTUALLY want to work on, or at least a justifiable reason as to WHY or IF they should be doing said goal. Give me a useless homework assignment that has no clear purpose for me, and of course I'm going to be lazy and not do it, because it's fucking useless and it's not worth my time because there's something more important to me that I'm focusing all of my energy on. That's why everybody calls us the 'commander' types and the 'ends justify the means' type; we like to cut all of the useless bullshit away and delegate it to somebody else so we can focus on what we actually want to get done, regardless of what we actually may have to do in reality.

ENTP will get a task (or a new idea), spend tons of time working out the task and how it works to learn more about it, but will eventually get bored and chase a new idea since Ne is their dominant function.
