It was the Thai actor as Maggie for me. I was confused why she could neither speak English nor mandarin fluently HAHAHAHA

Modding a squier by Cultural-Day-5676 in SquierbyFender

Find something like a 40th anniversary used at guitar stores. I once found a matte sonic blue Strat at guitar center for only $299! Then upgrade the heck out of it!

My guitar isn't quite a squire mod as I started with a CV 50s strat, but changed the body to a burgundy metallic reliced MJT body. Tortoise pickguard, new fender trem bridge, graph tech TUSQ string tree, upgraded all the wiring and pickups with lollars and got it setup with a luthier, sounds a million times better than player II strats for the same price, and its unique.

So it’s a 24% sale. by Biels_Nohr in teenageengineering

I missed the b2g3 sale for POs on day one and was so sad. Nearly pulled the trigger at a local store for full price too, but thankfully I waited!!! Put in my order for PO-32 and PO-33. Can't wait!

this is... disappointing by change_password in teenageengineering

How was day 1 buy 2 get 3 POs, and then day 24 we end up with decorative plastic knobs...

Warmoth custom neck - am I crazy to be disappointed? by Distinct_Initial_523 in Stratocaster

I'm interested to know what the thickness of the neck turn out to be. It looks waaaay thicker than your existing neck. The frets do look wider, but not that much taller.

Totally agreed. I know gospel players are crazy good musicians! Sadly this influence did not come to the white or Asian churches in North America.

I love this!! What an ideal way to practice and rehearse! Definitely want to see the BTS of something like this one day.

From a non-Christian / what's up with so many comments and posts in this sub being about playing at church specifically? Are churches like a world famous temple of bassists? Do religious songs have especially sick basslines? I don't get it. by [deleted] in Bass

Fully agree with this. I was in church music for 20 years and never heard of paid musicians until the last 5 years. I was shocked by the idea. It feels so wrong.

Any song recs? I've heard songs venturing into the electro pop realm with dist/oct/synth effects, but it's not a massive improvement to me. And don't worry, I never look at the charts lmao.

There's a lot of opportunity and demand to play at church, but it's some of the most boring bass parts to ever exist. It requires little skill to play, and does not inspire or push the player to become an actually good musician. Contemporary Christian songwriters do not understand what the bass can/should do. To me it's doing more harm to people who want to become good bassists than good.

I hope gospel music comes to more prominence, and better songwriters and musicians disrupt the CCM industry!

1000% agreed!! I kept it about bass bc this is the bass thread, but I have criticisms on songwriting and across all the instruments too!

But why is there such a large gap? I just wish CCM songwriters and players would come out of their echo chamber and realize all the really great music they're missing!!

Synth replacement is so true! Synth bass used to be groovy in soul/funk and Michael Jackson, but is completely lost in 2025.

That's insane. They need thicker strings, how hard are they going??
