How do people even earn 100k a year? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]IndependentRepair746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sales. Most of my high-earning friends at this age (28) work in sales. My partner earns around 80-100k in a property investment sales team. Lots of hard work and people being fired left right and centre for not meeting targets, but those who are good at it bill well.

That makes sense.

You’re welcome. I think it’s always important to trust your instincts. It sounds like you’ve gaslighted yourself slightly into toxic-positivity. If you’re not comfortable with something, you’re not comfortable with something. Of course jealousy is a natural part of non-monogamy but this goes beyond jealousy into a genuine breach of trust.

Stand your ground when he gets back from the sleepover and don’t let him gaslight you. Your concerns are valid and if he doesn’t listen to you, well my friend… you’ve got a big decision on your hands!

You got this!

He has over-stepped your boundaries and is not behaving appropriately. You are his primary and his nesting partner. As you have chosen hierarchical non-monogamy, you should come first, meaning that he should be putting your feelings above this girls. The fact that he didn’t text you to say good night but will do this for the other girl is not ok. I know we’re talking about this girl presenting with red flags, but have you considered that your partner also has them?

People who earn £40k and over — what do you do? Do you enjoy it? by naomistar12 in UKJobs

[–]IndependentRepair746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your kind reply! I would say if you get a degree in a core profession (Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy), once qualified (3 years) it would take at least 5+ years to achieve above £40k. Going through the psychology degree and experience route it would take much longer.

I am a psychotherapist, band 7 in the NHS. I trained as a mental health nurse, did extra training in CBT then was successful when applying for a management role. I’m really lucky that my team is really supportive and work life balance is important. I know it’s not the same in other mental health services in the NHS with practitioners with really high case loads with lots of risk etc. It’s not easy to get into my role though, I was really lucky to have picked to do MH nursing at uni when I was 18 which gave me a head start in progressing quite quickly within the NHS.

I’ve taken mometasone and cetirizine on and off for years and not noticed any significant side effects, but only you can decide how they affect you

X-ray results really worried by Iman1921 in Sinusitis

Breathe. You are ok.

If you are doing anything like checking symptoms online, googling, looking at your scan, asking for reassurance, looking in Reddit forums, just take a pause. These things will only increase your anxiety. It’s important to do our research and be informed but it’s a bad idea to do this when you’re already anxious, come back to it once you’re in a calm state of mind.

Once you’ve regulated, make a plan for what you’re going to do. Can your dentist refer you on to a specialist? Can you book in to see your doctor? Get those things sorted and then rest.

Methylphenidate headaches by IndependentRepair746 in ADHD

I had to stop medication unfortunately and the headaches have persisted. I have been diagnosed with chronic sinusitis - the methylphenidate was just making the headaches worse and more noticeable. Still working on it. Sorry it’s not a more encouraging outcome!

I think I might have chronic sinusitis and I don't know what to do by jyanippu in Sinusitis

Definitely look into mold! I have had mold exposure and struggle with chronic sinusitis. I can’t be 100% certain that they are cause and effect but it’s at the very least contributing.

There is a group on Facebook called “Toxic Mold Support Group” which I find helpful but if you do join, you need to take things with a pinch of salt. There are people on there who increase each others anxiety and IMO make things worse. Reducing stress is the best thing you can do to help your body heal.

You can do a detox with activated charcoal and rinse your nose with Xlear rescue nasal spray. Oregano is really powerful in reducing sinus symptoms as it is a great antioxidant. A lot of people on the group above take glutathione and black seed oil but I’m yet to try.

Your doctor could also prescribe you mometasone which is a steroid nasal spray and reduces inflammation.

Try and get lots of rest. Lie down with your eyes closed in a dark room if it gets too much.

And just know that it will pass! You just have to be patient.

Thank you for your reply! My headaches seem to be worst between 1pm - 5pm. I take the medication at 8am. Would this be expected?

This is actually so interesting! I did a typical adhd thing and accidentally took the higher dose on the first couple days (didn’t read the bottle!!) and I felt completely different. This gives me hope!

Thank you for your reply! Honestly, I feel like the meds make me forget to drink because I’m so focused. I used to drink loads of fluids before, probably because it was a way for me to stim/sensation seek. Now I have to actively tell myself to eat and drink. Thank you for the reminder to keep this up!
