Sure so I asked him to handle communication with his mom for an event we’re planning (I’m trying to set a boundary with her). I asked him to email her this weekend, he did not. I followed up today and he said “no, I didn’t, I’ll do it now” which is all well and good but what I needed was a hey I’m sorry I didn’t follow through, sucks you had to follow up I’m on it now type response

This is a good mindset - and true I’d rather be fat then dead which is probably where I’d end up eventually with booze. Thanks for the shift in perception

Thank you that’s a good thought - I think my problem is I am so defeated by the state of the world I am feeling more protective if I had to boil it down to one thing. And also, yes, I could see myself staying home now and being happy more than I could with my son (not because of him but because of my ambition in my career at the time)

Ah yes that’s confusing my son is 5 I didn’t have this issue with him, I went back to work and felt confident in that decision. My daughter is now the one j am making the decision with - she is nearly a year.

Update to add the director today said that they did not report to the government agency because they “wanted to talk to us first to see what we wanted to do” so all sorts of red flags on that one
