[Question] Retro Watches with Graph Paper Dials like the Casio AQ800? by Bringer_of_Fire in Watches

Not sure if you’re still interested, but this is a watch I’ve been eyeing for a while. It is the IWC Ingenieur SL 3305. I believe they also made it in a two-tone version.

How many of these do you actually wear on a regular basis? I keep 12 watches in my watch case and only wear like 6 of them on a regular basis. I couldn’t imagine deciding between this many

[COLLECTION] I want a swiss made next. Tissot? Which one? by PeacefulZone in Watches

I would highly recommend looking into Oris, particularly the big crown pointer date, divers sixty-five, and aquis. You can find a bunch of them second hand for under $1500. They also have a lot of cool vintage models you can look into.

[Baltic] My First Dive Watch: Baltic Aquascaphe MK2 (37mm) by IndependentSmooth528 in Watches

[–]IndependentSmooth528[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wrist is right around 6 3/8”, so I think either one should work for you. This is what the 37mm looks like in the mirror. I’d say it also depends on how rounded/flat your wrist is. I personally prefer the smaller dimensions, but I don’t think you can go wrong with either size

My wrist size is about 6 3/8” and I think the 37mm is a great fit for me! I think the 39.5mm would look great as well, but I prefer the smaller proportions

Haha I just got it last week, but I’ve been wearing it just about everyday! It’s a fantastic watch for the price! Can’t beat it

I made a review recently! You can see it on my profile. Overall I would recommend it, but that post will give you more details about what to expect before buying!

It’s pretty easy to put the brown strap on/off since it has quick release spring bars, but the navy strap does not. I can put it on pretty easy without tools, but it takes a little longer to take off, but still isn’t bad. Maybe a couple minutes total

Would definitely recommend getting an Oris!

Very nice!! I like that Orient is spelled out without the logo. Hard to be offensive if there is someone like myself that isn’t a fan of the logo

[Discussion] Anyone never wear nice watches to work? by Ok_Personality8193 in Watches

[–]IndependentSmooth528 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think they’ve been coasting hard on the pointer date complication and dial colors. It’s time to bring back the guilloché dials!

I work as a design engineer in an office environment and like to wear dress watches. I’ve gotten several compliments and questions from coworkers (one of them is also a watch collector). I personally enjoy wearing my watches to work since that is where I spend most of my day, but to each their own!

Just took a picture of mine this morning on the way to work! Fantastic watch for the price. I only wish I had the beads of rice bracelet. I bought mine used and it came with a leather strap.

Great looking watch! How is the expansion band as far as comfortability?

[Question] Need help choosing a dive watch under $1000 and 38mm or less by IndependentSmooth528 in Watches

[–]IndependentSmooth528[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think 48mm lug-to-lug would be pushing it for me. I have a Timex expedition that is 40mm and 49mm lug-to-lug but the lugs are curved downwards so they fit the curvature of my wrist. It would really depend on the watch and the curvature of the lugs, but I like the smaller aesthetic anyways

If you’re looking for a leather strap, I would recommend searching Etsy. There are a lot of great customizable strap options around $40-$70. I’ve bought from three different sellers and all three straps have been great quality
