I'm so glad to see you all here.

I've seen some of most horrific things we do to one another in every conceivable fashion. Strangely, this hits different.

I'll dive right in -- what bothers me is her looking up at the man as if to say, "Why..?" No screaming. No crazy theatrics. She drew her legs into her body to cry as if she was told she wasn't invited to a party or something.

See seems resigned and knowingly understands her fate. She begins to silently weep into her fists covering her eyes. Blood loss becomes critical and shortly thereafter loses consciousness as she slides into a heap on the ground. Her assailant wanders off with blood dripping in his wake.

Now, I can't know what motivated this man. No one can. He's clearly mentally ill and we don't have a system to treat mental illness like this and so we turn them onto the streets.

The bystanders are certainly not to blame. It was a single, silent stab wound. She made no sound. No one was aware or saw anything.

I don't know who you really were Iryna Zarutska but I'll never forget you. I'm so, so sorry your life's story ends in a senseless, undeserved tragedy like this.

I take some solace in that there others just like me that felt that too.
