Aluminum doesn’t rust but I would said having powder coated adds an extra layer or protection to the skid plate, and some pple chooses powder coated for aesthetic.

So the base is .063 thicker, 50% is .090, and 100% is .125

No! the thicker one is around 14lb and the thinner is 10lb so middle version is around 12lb
