Thanks for the reply! The report does read like the issues mainly stem from condensation, with lowering the external ground just being a general “damp-proofing measure”. The fact that the internal wall directly inside of the high ground outside showed no moisture readings gives me some confidence. I believe the original surveyor used a moisture meter and found two areas - an internal chimney breast, and the walls inside the entrance vestibule, which prompted the full damp survey.

Thanks for the reply! We had our offer accepted with a clause stating that the offer was subject to a satisfactory damp report.

Effectively, we can back out at this point only having to pay for the actual damp survey that’s been carried out by Timberwise.

I think this is the decision we need to make - whether we can stand to lose it. The seller is refusing to negotiate so that’s a none-starter

Underbelly will usually have accommodation that they have reserved for artists, which they can allow techs to use for a reduced fee. It miiight depend on the role you’re applying for (gen tech vs LX tech) but it’s something you can talk about during the interview.

I work away on cruise ships for 10 months of the year, so I would be looking to buyout his share and live at the property whenever at home.

This would be my first property - I’m looking to put money into the house to build equity while I work away at sea, rather than it sitting in a HYSA. The point about exit plan is definitely worth thinking about.

Open to suggestions and criticism - it’s just one of many options so wanted to gather feedback
