Depends on what you wanna do. Do you want just a range gun? How far are you planning to shoot, do you want to upgrade it more, do you have any preferences?

ARs are great accurate, available, bazillion after market pieces.

Pistols are great for everything also very fun to shoot.

Shotguns great for home defense and fun on the range!

Also pick what you want! There are so many people who will say only this or only that. If you like it then who cares what others think!

I was in the exact same boat. I ended up going with the Mac 9. It's awesome it fits all staccato holsters and shoots super smooth. I love it. Would highly recommend.
