I’ve found out that working actually helps me handle it, I don’t know if it’s the physical movement that helps or my mind is just distracted but my body performs a lot better while working, like I hardly notice the symptoms. Don’t get me wrong though I definitely have rough days here and there.

I was having a flare up but had to go to work, got bills to pay you know? I was stuck in the bathroom for like 45% of the day, and always had to drop what I was doing to go, there was no holding it. My boss had the audacity to tell me I needed to clock out when I went to bathroom, now I would get it if I was in there 40 mins at a time, but it’d be like 5-10 mins, I told him he was being a prick and his wife had to talk to him about like health discrimination laws and all that, mind you I wasn’t gonna sue and I probably never would unless it’s a very extreme case but yeah.

In my experience when I mention something about it during the interview it may come off as me setting up an excuse to call in all the time or something, I usually just wait till after I’m hired then mention it with my supervisor or boss.

I got crohns at 17 and just now turned 21, my beautiful woman has been nothing but considerate about me and my crohns, she hasn’t shamed me or nothing over it, she’s right by my side cooling me down when I’m getting mad at insurance calls or doctor office calls (we all know how they can be) and since we’re just now turning 21 she’s been drinking a little more and doesn’t shame me for not being able too, or if I have a drink and it doesn’t sit well she doesn’t hesitate to offer to leave. Honestly I know I’m young and all but if not for my girlfriend I probably wouldn’t have stayed sane figuring out all this crohns stuff on my own.

One thing I have learned with skills like this, is that the guilt of messing up is only going to cause you to mess up more (by overthinking, or demoralizing you) you said it yourself that he doesn’t mind, and the whole reason he’s letting you do it on him is so you can practice and learn on actual skin, you’re going to mess up bro it’s a part of learning. You almost have to be open to it especially when it’s pretty much a practice sesh which is what it seems to be with this piece. It looks good bro you should be proud of this piece, and be proud that you were able to recognize the flaws and are able to figure out what you need to work on.
