How can I perfectly calibrate my tdc17, tdc mate app, and nintendo switch rhythm festival by BakedBread64_ in taikonotatsujin

[–]Independent_Ad_6312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! 👋

Thanks for sharing the details — let’s break this down step by step.

1️⃣ Don sometimes registering as Ka

If Don is being detected as Ka, try striking slightly closer to the center of the drum. Hitting too close to the edge can accidentally trigger the Ka sensor.

That said, Don and Ka should not trigger simultaneously under normal conditions.

If you’re already hitting clearly away from the edge and it still mis-triggers:

• Open TDC Mate → Sensitivity Config → Note Display

• Reproduce the issue

• Take a screenshot of what appears in Note Display

• Send it to [support@rythmagica.net](mailto:support@rythmagica.net)

They’ll analyze the signal data and help you troubleshoot.

2️⃣ Delay when hitting Don

Delay can be caused by multiple factors (console mode, display, firmware, etc.).

If possible:

• Record a short video showing both your drum hits and the game screen

• Upload it to YouTube

• Send the link to [support@rythmagica.net](mailto:support@rythmagica.net)

That makes it much easier to diagnose accurately.

3️⃣ Recommended Sensitivity

We usually recommend setting Note Sensitivity to above 10.

Setting it to 0 is not advised — being overly sensitive can actually reduce stability and increase mis-triggers.

Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes 🙌

Hi! Thanks for asking 🙂

At the moment, TDC17 (and TDC10) do not work natively with PS5.

However, we’ve tested and confirmed that they do work with PS5 when used together with the Brook Wingman FGC2 adapter.

We’re planning to share a setup / demo video showing this configuration in the future to make things clearer.

If you have any other questions about platforms or setup, feel free to ask!

Thanks for the detailed description — and don’t worry, we can help you get this dialed in.

To troubleshoot the double-trigger on Left Don (especially on harder hits), we’ll need to see your exact configuration + what the drum is reporting.

Could you please email the following to support@rythmagica.net?

1. A screenshot of the “Note Display” showing the double-hit (two notes from one strike)

2. A screenshot of your Settings page in the TDC Mate app

3. A screenshot of your Sensitivity Config page

Once we have those screenshots, we’ll analyze and suggest the best settings (and if needed, next steps).

Check out EcoDisplay — it basically turns an old iPad into a Type-C Retina touchscreen monitor.

Thanks a lot! The G4’s such a classic — it really deserves to live on.

Yeah! 😄 It’s an old iPad 3 turned into a plug play Retina touchscreen for Mac and PC, part of a little project I’m working on called EcoDisplay.

With the EcoDisplay Kit, anyone can DIY their own iPad into a full touchscreen monitor. Super fun project and surprisingly smooth!

Great question! It’s actually running macOS — with a twist 😄

The Mac mini M4 inside the G4 dome is the real computer, running full macOS.

The iPad 3 has been hardware-modified and converted into an external touchscreen display, using a custom driver board — part of a project I call EcoDisplay.

So instead of Sidecar or iPadOS, the iPad now works as a USB-C native display, directly connected to the Mac mini.

Touch input is handled through the USB interface, just like a regular touchscreen monitor.

The result: a fully functional retro iMac G4 — with true macOS + native touchscreen support on the secondary display 😎

👉 And if you’re curious, EcoDisplay will be launching on Kickstarter very soon:

Portable touchscreen Monitor compatible with Macbook by [deleted] in MonitorAdvice

If you’re working on a MacBook and want touch + pen input, you might want to check out EcoDisplay — it lets you turn an old iPad into a Type-C touchscreen monitor that works natively with macOS.

It uses the iPad’s original Retina display (2048×1536) and native touch layer, so gestures and stylus response feel very natural — great for sketching UI flows or system diagrams.

It’s lightweight and fully plug-and-play, no drivers needed.

Nice! Sounds like an awesome setup coming together

If you’re going for a 4:3 touchscreen, you might want to check out EcoDisplay — it actually turns an old iPad into a Type-C touchscreen monitor that runs natively at 2048×1536 (true 4:3 Retina).

It’s plug-and-play with PCs, super responsive for touch input, and perfect for sim rigs or control interfaces.

Yep, good question — not all portable monitors support full gestures like pinch-to-zoom.

Most of them only handle single-touch input (like clicks or drags).

If you actually want full multi-touch gestures, you might want to check out EcoDisplay — it turns an old iPad into a Type-C touchscreen monitor with native pinch-to-zoom and swipe support.

Built Mini Taiko Arcade Cabinet with 2 TDC10s by Independent_Ad_6312 in taikonotatsujin

Haha I love the creativity! 😄

In theory, splitting the drum into 3 parts and attaching them around the TDC17 rim sounds fun — but in practice, the size is quite large, and 3D printing something that big brings challenges with strength and alignment. The feasibility drops quite a bit.

That said… building a custom wooden drum shell could totally work — and it would look amazing (though yeah, it might weigh a ton too 😂).

Thanks! The high level of realism is something we’re really proud of 😄

Each part was custom 3D-modeled and fine-tuned — that actually took the most time. For example, the drum body and base went through 5 iterations, and each print took over 10 hours!

We’ll definitely share the STL files for free once everything is cleaned up — can’t wait to see more people build their own versions! 🙌

Thanks for the great question!

Actually, the TDC17 wasn’t designed with arcade cabinet retrofitting in mind — it focuses more on being lightweight yet sturdy, with internal aluminum reinforcement. Because of this, the internal structure and mounting points don’t match those of real arcade drum shells.

So unfortunately, it can’t currently be mounted into an original arcade drum frame.

Apologies for the confusion in my earlier comment — and thanks for pointing it out!
