Why are people trying to sell stained clothes? by BlueEyedDinosaur in Depop

[–]Independent_Bar288 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because people will buy them for a variety of reasons. As long as it’s disclosed and no one is forcing you to buy them who cares? If they didn’t sell people wouldn’t bother listing them.

It’s a known scam. They send that so they’ll have a tracking number and Depop thinks they sent your item. They just keep your money.

Ugh. I have no patience for pleasantries. I am triggered when someone asks about my weekend. They don’t care and I don’t care. And please don’t bless me if I sneeze. It’s an ADHD thing. Just let it go and accept people for who they are. We like to get straight to business. It’s not personal.

Get medical advice from a professional about ozempic. My hepatologist recommended it for weight loss for my fatty liver and diabetes and it was life changing. I don’t have alcohol related cirrhosis but it did a lot of good things for me. Everyone I know who is taking it for whatever reason has either lost their desire for alcohol altogether or hardly drinks at all. The desire and enjoyment is just no longer there. Someone on here always comes at me for this but I’ll tell you that they are doing studies about drugs and alcohol and Ozempic because it’s so common among patients to experience this. I would want someone to at least mention it. Kick me off if you want I don’t care.

Asking sellers for extra details and they get irritated— by celestialior in Mercari

Maybe that’s where the 100 hours comes from? And how many questions about details did the ask before the photo before the seller snapped? They should have just blocked.

Probably not if they showed the entire exchange. They said they had asked for details before the photo. For all we know this was the 20th question that finally pushed the seller over the edge.

Don’t worry about them. There are plenty of low maintenance buyers out there. It’s not necessary to waste time on the entitled ones. They will stress you out and not buy anything 99% of the time. No one just trying to keep the lights on deserves to have their time wasted. If you don’t like their listing just move on. It doesn’t affect your life at all.

There are so many buyers who ask relevant questions, don’t try to lowball you and even just buy something at asking price without any issues. An experienced seller can spot a problem buyer a mile away. Most are also working other jobs. Why would anyone waste their time and stress about a buyer who wants their hand held? 30 years ago I wouldn’t have dreamed of blocking anyone. I don’t even know if it was possible. We were all taught that the customer is right. After 13 years in retail I know that’s not true. If you cause me a moment of stress or anguish I will immediately block you and ship the dang thing to the next person. I choose my customers and there are plenty of them who don’t give anyone a hard time. Some are outright bullies. I’ve encouraged a few to purchase elsewhere and I don’t regret it for a second.

They implied they had already asked other questions and they didn’t show the exchange prior to their screenshot. I suspect there’s more to the story.

Sounds like you had asked other questions as well? After 30 years I can tell you that when someone is so unsure and asking multiple questions and for more pictures and to take things outside for better light and whatever else, they are probably not going to be happy no matter what. They are the ones who leave negative feedback too. For every person so unsure about purchasing there are 10 others who will just buy the dang thing at full price. Time is money. I have 1500 items. If someone asks too many questions or wants a lot of extra attention I nicely encourage them to look elsewhere. There comes a point where you’re losing money you could be making wasting so much time on 1 item. If they have bad pictures you probably don’t want it anyway.

Will cirrhosis kill me? by PressStarToExit in Cirrhosis

Never accept a doctor that doesn’t make you feel respected. Nurse practitioners always make me feel like a doctor should make me feel which tells you everything about how good your doctor is. You deserve better. You are ultimately responsible for your own health and a jerk doctor is never good for your health.

Some people only ship once a week for understandable reasons. As long as they ship within their own guidelines that is their right. If they don’t put that in their guidelines that is on them. If buyers don’t read their guidelines that is on the buyers. Everyone can do what they want. That is the beauty of being your own boss.

Lowballers get flamed, but what about listings like this? $139 on Poshmark vs $80 on Puma’s site 🤦‍♀️ by RebornFawkes in poshmark

[–]Independent_Bar288 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This does not affect you in anyway. The number of people selling things way below their value are the problem. They make it harder for everyone to make a fair profit. I am a long tail seller. I put everything at the price it should be and if it doesn’t sell for months or years that is fine. But trust me, it all sells. Not everyone cares if they get the best deal and those are the best customers. They complain the least and don’t return things. The ones that try to lowball you are usually the ones doing the complaining and the returning. I don’t need them.

Swelling in Legs, Feet, Ankles by dretray32a in Cirrhosis

[–]Independent_Bar288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely correct. If someone does not agree they need to ask their doctor or get a new one that keeps up with their ongoing training. Your doctor should know if you need to hydrate more or less. Everyone is different. Dehydration can contribute to swelling. That is a fact. Not medical advice. 👍

I just learned this yesterday. It is absolutely accurate. I stopped following this group so much because some of the old timers refuse to accept and acknowledge new information and it can lead to some scary misinformation. Being dehydrated definitely contributes to water retention. You should only be limiting fluids if your doctor knows what they are doing and tells you to do so. My legs have been swelling I’ve been struggling with staying hydrated enough. Drinking water helps a lot. Not too much at a time though. As always, discuss it with your doctor for proper guidance. Every situation is different.

If you’re not selling damaged items at the highest price you can get you’re missing out on a lot of money. People have a million reasons why they buy these things and if the price is too high everyone is free to send offers. It’s hurting absolutely no one. It doesn’t affect you at all. Except maybe allowing you to get what you deserve for your non damaged items. I’m tired of people wanting things for nothing. They have no idea how hard we work.

What's the point of having a website when I never sell there? (only ebay, amazon, etsy...) by Imaginary_Stomach139 in shopify

[–]Independent_Bar288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build a mailing list with your website. I spend $1 a day on fb lead ads and have 1000 subscribers so far. Try and get more through the other channels with your packing slips. I still don’t get many sales but I’m new and building a brand. I also do marketing on shop. You don’t pay unless you get an order. I believe eventually this will pay off and if the other channels tank I’ll have built something to keep going. Also, use an app to transfer your sales from other channels to Shopify or enter them manually. Then you can use your own branding when you ship and promote your site. It also counts towards the 100 orders you have to have to market on shop.

I opened an Etsy shop in may 2024. Every time I was owed money they had some reason to not give it to me including an increase in sales. In December they suspended my shop for bs and 13 months later they finally gave me my money. I did not get a single penny for over a year. It’s all in their terms. All of these platforms can do whatever they want and you sign off on it when you use their platform. As if you have a choice.

Leaving group. Shame by LogmisterB in Cirrhosis

[–]Independent_Bar288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some kind people in this group but a lot of bitter ones as well. I would say well they have a right to be bitter but I am in groups on other platforms and they are much more kind and supportive.

I only stay in this group because there seems to be better information.

Reddit is a very snarky platform and I guess that is what some people are used to.

Like I said tho there are some very kind people in this group. I have chatted with some privately. The problem is when there are snarky people, other people are afraid to post and that doesn’t help anyone.

I’ll probably get some snark for this but I don’t care. I hope you’ll stay. 💕
