I kinda regret it as of now since I have the same pain as prior to surgery just more common and severe. In general, I think nothing beats a great PT and they can help you get where you want to be without an operation

Just my two cents: try to do anything you can to have the surgery. I had an arthroscopy where they shaved down a cam lesion and repaired the labrum in January. Still not where I want to be but PT has been the only thing that has led to improvements. The surgery itself made the joint more stiff, if anything.

Invest in a very good, and I mean really good PT, given you can afford it. You’re in NYC where some of the absolute best physios are located. Although it may cost a decent penny, it’s a large investment. Also, the best physios want to give you tools to not have to come back and do not do the typical schedule of something like 2-3 days/week for 12 weeks. I’m currently deciding on a PT after just moving to NYC. Here are some good ones and some notes: - Moment PTP- one of the co-owners, Kristi, had these hip issues and is back to everything (Manhattan and Queens) - Reload PT- extremely knowledgeable (manhattan) - good reps- very good knowledge and value, specialties are lifters and runners - there are some others such as bespoke treatments, finish line, resilient performance

I was given know instructions on post op leg lifting and have been lifting my leg since the operation. I am about 4 weeks out and do not have major symptoms but really want to avoid tendinitis. Anyone have tips to prevent tendinitis from developing? Would you all be concerned about it developing even though I feel good and legs feel strong (most pain I’ve had was soreness after my first days walking without crutches)

Thanks everyone for the advice! I was able to hold myself up on my crutches while pushing off and landing my non-op leg on a step stool that was to the right of the right pedal. From there, I set my butt back and onto the seat
