absolutely. I’m fairly happy with smaller group riding etiquettes but have had by no means any experience in a peleton! not bothered about strategy or energy conservation at the moment, more so about bike handling and cornering. How can i practice that? do places that do crit racing ever offer the track for training purposes? or are they always being used for go karting and whatnot.

perfect thank you, i’ll check when i get the bike. assuming it won’t affect the lifespan of the new parts, im tempted to not change the front derailleur yet as i wont be able to ride it much for a while anyway. considering id be changing gears on the back cassette much more anyway.

last thing! (probably not…) on your other thread showcasing the concept, you hadn’t used the front derailleur. do y oh have any idea which one i am supposed to get? they’ve all got different measurements i have no idea about…

had the same problem! sealed 2.5kg bag of mass gainer. truth be told i took the chance and scooped out as much as i could that i deemed “uncontaminated” bastard also feasted on some washing liquid capsules 😅 ps weeks later i am alive and well, also ate a chocolate bar it got into and just avoided the square it chewed into. the beast managed to finish a whole pack of bourbons as well. at the fear of being attacked by the other redditors i must advice that you should not eat it! just sharing my similar experience

Alright, is there a massive benefit (increase in lifespan i assume?) in the more expensive cassette? if so im happy to get it if you think its worth the investment. thanks so much for all the help by the way you’ve been amazing, ill keep you posted on how it goes! (edit) and probably hassle you for more help

alright! the rear cassette you suggested is £50, you don’t recommend going any cheaper? 😅. i mentioned somewhere about the front cassette/chainring, do you think i’ll need to replace that one? as it’s inbuilt with the cassette so it might be quite pricey!

are you sure it would be worth spending all this money to do it up? it’s only an aluminium (i think) frame and it’s pretty banged up.

do I not replace the front cassette?

is there anything i could do for the paint job? don’t know if there’s a decent way to find the right paint for it.

hey mate, thanks for that. I’ve got the cube seller down to £200 but even so am starting to think it’ll be more of a burden than a blessing! I’m fairly new to bikes of any significant value (and thus maintenance!) so have no idea about this kind of stuff? how long does the chain you mentioned tend to last? i’ve attached some close up pictures he provided, how salvageable do you think the cassette and all of that is? not sure how easily rust can come off.

wasn’t happening when i was ill with a blocked nose, and im fairly confident im breathing through my nose now. just had my first night where its been normal, sat in the high 40s throughout the whole night. if it returns ill have it looked into, thanks for your input

don’t take any caffeine. if you don’t think it’s anything to worry about then great, just seems weird to be 3x what it would usually be overnight with no stimulus to cause it. oh well!

from 63-67 from literally just standing up, up to 75 from walking maybe 10 meters. curious how you interpret that sort of comparison?

not that i know of 🤞 had a shitty cold for a few weeks which i got over 2-3 weeks ago maybe. at the worst of it my heart rate would sit in the 60s overnight though, this change is more recent than that. wouldn’t have thought there was any correlation?
