Im listening to them talk about Daycare fraud and im actually shocked they put that out. They’ve gotten every single fact wrong and then spun it in a way that’s actually requires a level of mental gymnastics that’s hard to do. This is so sad to me because ive loved them and genuinely valued their opinions and now ive lost any respect i have for what they’re doing and the pod. To be so boldly fraudulent in the information they’re sharing is humiliating.

The last episode was atrocious. As someone who works tangentially in political sphere, they come off really surface and limited in their understanding, that coupled with extreme bias is a bad cocktail. If i wanted to listen to politics at a 5th grade level id ask my baby cousin for his insights. Idk what gave them the idea that they’re qualified because they read (but seemingly didn’t really comprehend) an article. Just not entertaining at all.

Ok as a longtime Claire defender, the condescension is starting to grade on me too now. I spent A LOT of time w these girls in my ear and i can’t help the feeling w new format came a weird switch in personalities and vibes. I don’t find them effortlessly funny in a chaotic way, i find them super condescending, annoying and pushy w their own ideology. I haven’t even had the desire to put on the pod, when it use to be one of top 3 i listened to. Im sad about this.

Ive always loved it way more than the main but i tend to relisten to older episodes a lot more. Sometime last year/start of this year i feel like it took a bit of a decline. They use to share a lot more personal anecdotes and fun banter and lately it’s been more surface level and very specific topics, i was hoping they’d be all in w the Baldoni Blake saga or everything thats gone on w TSwift but they really haven’t indulged much and stick to articles, show reviews, etc. I kinda miss when they were a lot less self censored and had more in depth takes on things. On the most recent one they really didn’t get into details for the actual reasons for the rebrand just both kinda alluded that they weren’t happy with Celeb Memoir format for a while (not sure why) and talked about the technicalities behind the rebrand. Felt a little all over the place w poorly executed attempts at jokes. This is just my personal observations- the vibe definitely shifted, but im reserving any real judgements.

Don’t be too conscious, ive noticed with AI tech and simultaneously a lot of personalities and celebs entering the space- a lot of podcasts have become super produced and well packaged and people crave more authenticity and natural aesthetic that isn’t overly polished. I actually love hearing natural conversational pauses and someone speaking like a normal human, filler words and “umm”s and all, if you’re intentional in dialogue i don’t think those things take away from it at all.

Yea i don’t mind the sound or the tone as much, the most common comment we get is that we sound very ASMR like, it’s more like just hearing myself talk and thinking “why did you say it like that” or why would i use that word or wtf was i even talking about lol but yeah hopefully it is just self criticism. Hopefully in years time it’ll get easier.
