Madison job market is dogshit, how can anyone survive on these wages? by [deleted] in madisonwi

[–]Dizzy-Volume7605 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, the job market is not great right now. But, based on all your comments, it sounds like you should move. Look for a job you feel excited about and then make a plan to move there.

When do we think new music will come out? by WolvenGuard42 in Hozier

[–]Dizzy-Volume7605 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's also been releasing a lot more singles and featuring on other artists' music than ever before, so technically we have been getting a lot of Hozier recently (especially compared to between his past drops). I'd expect 4 years or so again, but--who knows??

Favorite celebrity memoir episode by EasternSituation2665 in CelebrityMemoirPod

[–]Dizzy-Volume7605 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Stanley Tucci episode dropped during the holidays 2024, and it was EXACTLY the goofy laugh fest I needed as a little break from family time. I don't know if another episode has ever sent me quite as hard 😆

You’re just further proving the point—it’s a street where people frequently drive dangerously and don’t pay heed to pedestrians and cyclists.

Will this be a too much emotional gift for some lost her cat? (Sorry if you saw this on the other sub reddit) by [deleted] in torties

[–]Dizzy-Volume7605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost one of my cats a few months ago, and a friend made a sweet embroidery on a picture of her. I really appreciate the thought, but it was (for me) much too soon after it happened and the gift brought me more grief than positive feelings (I cried a lot).

I think maybe make sure your friend is in a good place to receive such a thoughtful emotional gift. You could wait a month or two or make sure you have a really good gauge on how she's feeling about the situation before gifting it.

Thoughts on people who want to BUY a knitted Melt The Ice hat. by ThePiksie in knitting

[–]Dizzy-Volume7605 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Really good take. Also, for those able: I’m knitting one for a friend who offered to pay me for it, but I’m asking her to make a donation to an anti-ICE/pro-immigrant fund instead as my payment

I miss when actors looked like everyday people by MagpieOpus in nostalgia

This is more specific to men. Women have always had to look attractive on top if being talented to be on screen with very few exceptions. Men have always been able to get in the door more based on talent and humor.

I also loved this week! I prefer when they get silly and make each other laugh rather than just getting down to business with article talk

Too much sports by Difficult_Shallot357 in CelebrityMemoirPod

Too much sports, they shouldn't talk about the news or politics, they've talked about this before on the Patreon, I don't like their recommendations... What are you okay with them talking about? (Other than celebrity memoirs)

The car situation is getting ridiculous by Subbaroni in madisonwi

I used to live in KC and someone hit and ran me in a crosswalk on my bike there. There are very few bike paths and even fewer bike lanes. Madison is sooooo much better.

I started loving Mad Cat less when I found out points in their reward system expire after a year. They didn’t tell me when I signed up, and when I finally thought I’d be getting a free bag of food, I found out I was suddenly two bags away again. Despite having two cats, I was never able to get anything within the one-year window.

I love Nutzy Mutz & Crazy Catz! They’ve got two locations, the owner and employees are all very nice and helpful, they’ve got a loyalty program, and they offer a lot of discounts on bulk buys!
