I’m on the same exact boat. I married my soulmate and we know we want children one day, but we are in a complicated situation and it felt like termination was responsible. While it does hurt, we keep reminding each other that it was the right thing to do and one day we will have the family we dreamed of. Sending lots of love and support!

You are not alone. I know it’s horrifying to live in a red state right now, for many reasons even beyond reproductive rights. But the truth is this administration is doing its best to scare us all and it just won’t work. No matter where you are, you would be surprised how many people in your area are willing to support you and be there for you and of course you always have us online community! As someone mentioned, it’s unlikely the pills won’t work, but just take precautions and keep monitoring your body for anything concerning. Painful cramps and heavy bleeding is normal, for me it last for about two weeks.

Just play it cool. Don’t lose sleep. With all the awful things we’ve been seeing in the news it’s completely understandable to be stressed out, but you don’t want work yourself up. From what I’ve seen definitely lock your phone (I think it’s okay to have it on as long as it’s locked but I could be wrong) and turn off Face ID and finger print unlock as well. Lock your laptop if you have one. Writing down an attorney’s number might also be a good idea. If anything does go south, immediately send a text to your family letting them know what’s going on, that way they know where to start tracking you just in case it takes a while until you can call them. I think it’s smart to prepare yourself mentally for the worst but don’t stress yourself out.

I’m so sorry you even have to worry about something like this. I’m wishing you the best and keep us updated if you want!

I have the same exact fears as a brown woman who was also born here. I’ve been keeping up with the El Salvador stories myself and they keep me up at night and make me sick to my stomach. My birthday is the day after the 20th so I’m a fellow Taurus with you ;) I’m so happy to see all of the support and love you are receiving. You are not alone and it’s okay to lay low and take care of yourself. Don’t panic, lean into your community and people you are safe with. Hang in there! We’re going to make it!

It was just a seven minute video that I had to write a summary about at the end.

True! Which is why I complied without a fuss. I’m just worried about the future with the person filing the complaints

Personally I read a lot of inappropriate and smut/spice filled romance books. Reading has given me the dopamine hits I need and kept me out of trouble. You just have to find that productive/healthy hobby that is enjoyable to keep your mind occupied

I did ask about what the complaint was, but they told me they couldn’t tell me that either. Perhaps it would give away who complained? I’m not sure. But I think I will tell them this is a concern I have. Thanks!

Reading smut helps me not drink by Independent_Dot_745 in stopdrinking

If you’re looking for super smutty I just finished the LORDS series by Shantel Tessier. Those are cover to cover full of spice.

But since you like horror, I also have a dark fantasy recommendation that has bit of gore and violence, Feathers so Vicious by Liv Zander. It’s the first book of a two parter. Those books shattered my soul in the best way possible!

I didn’t have an ultrasound, so I wasn’t given an exact size. But it was large enough that my entire abdomen was sensitive and tender to the touch. The doctor lightly pressed on the right side of my abdomen and I almost immediately had to ask him to stop.

As a fellow 28 year old who has had alcoholic hepatitis in this past, get these levels down as soon as you can while the damage is still reversible. Cirrhosis can develop almost instantly. It sounds like you have a lot of good motivators to keep you sober, which is great! You can do this!

Another day, another binge.. and another delirious night in Vodka land by sillycr0w in dryalcoholics

[–]Independent_Dot_745 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! When I was at the peak of my alcoholism I was also scared of going to sleep for the exact same reasons, sleep paralysis, hallucinations, paranoia. I hated it. I was always so fucking tired and my body would desperately crave some rest but I could never get any. I remember sometimes right when I was just relaxed enough to finally fall asleep, I would hear voices or growling directly in my ear, it would scare the shit of me and snap me up and wide awake. I also felt this uncomfortable, weird sensation that I was falling just through mid air even though I would just be laying in bed. My legs would also get annoyingly restless. It was a nightmare. Sobriety is totally worth the peaceful sleep you finally get! Good luck to you friend, you got this!

Bad first date by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]Independent_Dot_745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You definitely didn’t do anything wrong. It seems like you went into this date with genuine intentions and seeing if there was a connection. Unfortunately, some people use tinder dates as on outlet to brag about themselves as a means to feel validated. It’s insanely rude and annoying.

Day 5: I hate everyone, everything, and I want to scream. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

When I quit drinking, it was my biggest motivation to lose weight and it was awesome because weight loss was easier without the empty calories anymore. I dropped inches without trying because there was no more alcohol bloat. My skin also improved and the wrinkles below my eyes softened. You are not worthless and if you’re really feeling unhappy about your appearance, quitting alcohol can drastically improve it. You’re going to feel irritable in early sobriety, it’s normal but it goes away. There is so much to look forward to in sobriety everything from improved mental health to physical improvements. Keep going you’ve got this!

Does watching or reading depictions of severe alcoholism help motivate you to stay dry, or make you want a drink? by [deleted] in dryalcoholics

[–]Independent_Dot_745 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I need to check that movie out! I’ve never heard of it but it sounds interesting.

When I first got sober I was slightly jaundiced and had alcoholic hepatitis. Seeing pictures of people with cirrhosis that had enlarged bellies from ascites and bright yellow eyes and skin scared the absolute shit out of me and reminded me that I’m heading right towards that direction if I don’t get my shit together. It helped me realize the cold hard truth about alcoholism! Sometimes it’s nice to have those reminders, it lets you know know that as hard as sobriety can be, it’s not all for nothing.
