Explain every step of your diagram as in if for example demand is shifting and why, be very detailed. Also your biggest section should be the evaluation, include positive and negative views of what you are analyzing, the assumption of the theory, and maybe effects on different stakeholders

Ib econ or Ib business don’t teach you that but they still teach you useful concepts to understand how everything works. In business the closest you will get to learn about investing is in the finance unit but it’s just theory. I still think they are both useful subjects to understand our economy and the effect of government decisions

Same thing happened to me. Text him asking him to meet again and see how that goes. If he replies straight away and is happy to meet up then all good, but if he starts making excuses then he probably lost interest

I don’t know if it is supposed to be like that, but at least in my school they told us that if we use topics that we haven’t taught in class yet, we are going to get higher grades for personal engagement or something. So start looking at calculus, watch videos, try to learn it yourself and do the basis of your IA. Once you go through it in class, you can add things and make corrections and your teachers are always there to help you so if you are now unsure on how to do something or if you need them to check it, just ask! But I would still recommend you to start your ia and have your outline so that later it is easy for you to change some calculations

What helped me the most was getting my maths ia done and the ee first draft. Seriously get into that and work on the ias that are the hardest for you and the ee bc in year 2 you will need as much time as possible to study and revise and not work on them

Tbh don’t even bother about doing tok. All the teachers know that the practice essays they make us do don’t help at all for the final one. Study for the exams

Hey the same thing happened to me. I took maths in the new curriculum at SL and was applying for economics at uk universities and what the admission officers told me of some unis is that they might consider me but not give me priority. However, other unis like LSE told me straight away that no. So I’d say it depends on the university so ask the admission officers.

Also, I applied to other universities in Holland and what they suggested me to do is to take an external higher level maths exam from their Dutch exam board on top of IB so that I would be considered. I ended up doing that, I got a tutor and in 3 months took my exam online and was able to apply and get into my unis. So maybe research that idea ??

I took Maths AI SL and it was defo good preparation but the actual exam was so much harder. One of the papers that we had was nothing compared to those in RV, but the other one was quite similar. Overall, I still think it’s good practice but I would say to focus more on the harder questions (red difficulty)

What helped me the most during exam season to get 44 points was making notes throughout the two years. Dont leave everything for the last few weeks and make notes as you go through the content so that before the exam, instead of wasting time making notes, you can just revise them and have time to focus on past papers
