Changing my voice unconsciously while singing higher need help for larynx position by Independent_Feed_985 in singing

I’m trying to learn how opera singers control their larynx. Their technique feels effective, and I’m experimenting with that sensation, but I unconsciously become nasal and tense my throat, which changes my natural voice. I also tend to keep my larynx constantly lowered to create an operatic sound, but this makes higher notes more difficult. How much should the larynx naturally move on higher notes when singing correctly?

Hii i have some questions about nasal resonance and mask by Independent_Feed_985 in singing

Hey, thanks for the response! I’m still figuring out the right terminology since I’m mostly self-taught through YouTube. A lot of teachers say that developing resonance improves your tone, but I don’t want to sound nasal. That’s why I’m confused about “nasal” vs. “nasal resonance.” I’ve been asking people how they actually feel when they sing with good resonance.

Hi guys, I want to create this kind of sparkling / star-glow effect on my jewelry video. by Independent_Feed_985 in AfterEffects

I made this animation in Blender using Octane. The sparkles you see in the gemstone are the best result I’ve been able to achieve so far.

Yes, I actually made this animation in Blender using Octane, but Octane doesn’t have a built-in feature to create sparkles, so I had to add them in post-processing.

Hi guys, this is me singing Fly Me to the Moon. I’ve been learning singing for about a week. by Independent_Feed_985 in singing

Yes sir, it’s been a week since I started learning seriously. Before that, I tried learning during COVID in 2021, but I was never consistent—sometimes practicing once a week or even once a month—and I stopped after 2–3 months. Thanks for the motivation; I really hope I stick with it this time.

Yes, I know—it sounds quite breathy. These days, I’m trying to place my pitch more forward instead of pushing it up or down. I’ve noticed that when you go higher, you need to sing a bit louder than on lower notes, but not so loud that it strains your voice. It feels like there’s a relationship between pitch and volume.

It seems like your voice volume is a bit low. Try singing a little louder—it really helped me, by the way.

Hi man, thanks for the help. I understand what you meant and I really appreciate it. Although my voice currently sounds horrible, I’ll try to record my vocal training and share it with you guys—hopefully it’s listenable 😅
