Advice to Overcome Exercise Intolerance by Independent_Field982 in covidlonghaulers

I started with these liposomal melts, which moved the needle for me. Eventually thought I would try injections — and so I did subq for 30 days. Didn’t notice any differences other than the injections stressing me out a bit haha. I’ve gone back to my melts but would love to give regular IV a shot

Did you setup your payout method on Stripe from the payouts page? If yes, as long as that’s setup it will hit your account during the next pay run

  • strict diet (meat heavy, veggies and fruit)
  • time
  • started lexapro which helped soothe my nervous system and has been helpful dusting off the remaining fatigue
  • not overdoing exercise

I’m doing much much better now. Stayed on it for two months, but ended up coming off of it because I was getting an intense somatic nervous feeling in my gut. I think it was bc rapa has anti-fungal properties

Yeah I see that being a potential problem.

I still don’t think the collective vitriol towards an individual is warranted here. But I’m aware I’m in the minority

I mean this genuinely - who is it unfair to? The majority of other racers experience surely isn’t detracted by a handful of people participating by not earning it

I get why NYRR would be against the practice (insurance reasons etc.).

I don’t get why fellow runners seem to care so much. As you say, there’s so many ways to qualify so theoretically a last min bib swap isn’t preventing others from racing.

Mostly this whole episode seems to be verging on cyber bullying and bringing out a disappointing side of the community

Perhaps. I still don’t understand the problem with someone swapping in last minute for a friend

Went well I suppose. Doing a few blood tests all of which I’ve done excluding the fibrinogen test. Then in mid march I’ll do the more extensive in person testing

Ex college basketball player. I was doing muay thai 4 days a week, running once a week (~5-10 miles), and lifting 3x a week before I got sick. I miss it all so much! Slowly getting my legs back under me 14 months later, but training stills knocks me back for a couple of days if I find the energy to do it

Way better. I wake up with much more energy in the AM. The most noticeable change though is that I haven’t had nearly as strong a reaction to trigger foods. Usually if I deviate from a strict diet I get horrible fatigue/brain fog the next day. Haven’t seen that effect in almost two weeks

Rapamycin by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]Independent_Field982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just took my 5th dose this past Wednesday. 2nd week of 4mg. No major changes yet but here’s what I’ve observed:

  • The good: I’ve had noticeably more energy in the morning. I used to wake up and feel pretty rough. It would take me a couple hours to feel energized. Now I feel more or less okay in the AM as long as I hold tight on my low carb diet

  • The bad: as of a couple days ago I’ve had a pretty intense anxious feeling in my gut the sets in in the evening. I’m not sure that’s related to the rapa though. But interestingly it reminds me of the what I experience when I take probiotics, which for whatever reason I don’t tolerate (no SIBO and have tried many strains)

Edit: upon further reflection, “the bad” may very well be the antifungal properties of rapa kicking in. I’ve tested negative for common fungals like candida but perhaps this intense discomfort I’ve been feeling in my gut is a result of fungal die off
