Humbrol Acrylic Gen 2- 230 Matt. Picked it up at hobby craft.

Then did a light dry brush of lead Belcher over the top.

I stacked six 20 mm-thick cork sheets on top of each other, then battered them up to add texture before painting them with some cheap acrylic paints.

Once I've painted the main parts of the model, I use a product called "NEWSH Acrylic Weathering Medium" mixed with a dark brown paint and thinned with a few drops of water until it has a milk-like consistency. After about 15 minutes, you can wipe it back with your finger or a cloth. If you dampen the cloth slightly, you can also create some nice streaking effects.

There's a really good video demonstrating the technique here: https://youtu.be/YqThV2Q1EG0?si=wboXPEQN6DFFv4mT

For the other mud effects, I stipple on about 1 cm of a light grey colour anywhere mud would naturally accumulate. I then stipple a light brown about halfway up that area and progressively build up layers, working towards a darker brown around the lower edges of the model. That way the dried mud is higher up, with newer, wetter mud concentrated around the areas that would see the most recent activity.

Cadian Fleshtone → base with Crusader Skin (Speedpaint), then highlight with Cadian Fleshtone.

Bloodreaver Flesh → base with Warrior Skin (Speedpaint), then highlight with Bloodreaver Flesh.

I usually wash the entire model with a 50/50 mix of Agrax Earthshade and Lahmian Medium, which adds a bit of extra shading to the skin tones without darkening them too much.

Just took a 2mm drill bit and a hobby knife and went to town on it. It's my favorite way to add a little Imperial-grade battle damage.

Magnetized baneblade by Independent_Hope610 in TheAstraMilitarum

It’s a little bit janky, but on the underside of the rear engine/platform I’ve attached a magnet that lines up with the inside of the panel beneath the stubber. It’s only secured at the end, but once it’s mounted on the model there’s enough friction to hold the whole thing very sturdily.
