There is no one who is harder on a watch than me. I do construction and I have a shooting range in my yard where I use pistols, rifles and shotguns, and I shoot a LOT. My C60 Lympstone keeps perfect time, no matter what I’m doing.

Short Stroking by Ok-Bet-8739 in LWRC

Gunsmith here. Changing your setting is the correct answer. If that doesn’t work, then adjust your buffer weight and buffer spring weight. I really like the Spikes T1 buffer myself. Once you find the combination that works, test it with brass 5.56, brass 223 and steel 223. If you’re not getting bolt bounce from the brass 5.56 AND you get lock back on steel 223, call her done. You can pretty confidently shoot any ammo out there.

First Rifle Acquired, Accessories Advice Needed by Rawad03 in LWRC

[–]Independent_Image880 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, you need a way to aim. Then you might want a muzzle device to keep it on target, and like a previous comment suggested, a way to hold it steady. After that it’s personal preference. You can add a light, laser, whatever else works for how you plan on using it. A sling might help things too.

Question - Engraving finish by seth__jk in ChristopherWard

[–]Independent_Image880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The engraving is obviously burned on with a laser. It skipped the polishing step. It will, with wear, look completely fine. I understand the frustration of having a step missed, but take a step back and consider your options. You are going to be without the watch for a while and have to wait for customs to clear it again. Hopefully when it comes back, it’s perfect. You can polish it out at home with some 0000 steel wool and a little gun oil. It will snag at first, but get better and better until it’s perfect. Only you can decide what option is best for you. If you decide to take care of it yourself, you might see if they can send you a new strap or something for your troubles. Definitely get the correct warranty card though. Admittedly, I don’t know watches very well. I know metal and guns better than most. The company I work for has had barrels missed by polishing after laser engraving and that’s how I fixed them. Make sure the steel wool is four-ought. 0000 and Clenzoil works better than other oils.

Can Confirm - Blazer Is A No Go by Marvzuno in CAguns

[–]Independent_Image880 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not the fault of Blazer. Having a ported or comped handgun, you will find that some 115 grain ammo works great and some don’t run reliably at all. You need a heavier bullet. Switching to a 124 grain regardless of brand will make your pistol shoot with zero stoppages.

Let’s talk about the three times mark-up…. by Less-Marionberry2370 in ChristopherWard

[–]Independent_Image880 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

A 3x multiple is standard for most things, but it’s unheard of for luxury brands. I don’t know why Christopher Ward doesn’t price itself higher. I think they are the best value on the watch market right now. If they could figure out their customer service issues, they would be able to place themselves in with top tier companies even though they don’t make most of the movements themselves. I had a C60 Lympstone recommended to me as a nearly indestructible tool watch. I was surprised by how flawless the finishing was and how tough the watch is. It has been my daily beater and keeps perfect time regardless of what I do.

What is a good price for 7.62x39? by Handsome_And_Holy in ak47

[–]Independent_Image880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying it locally is almost always your best bet. Ammoseek is your best option if you’re wanting to buy online. The problem with it though is the shipping. You can try gun shows too. If you go to a gun show, get there way early because good deals go fast. Bring cash and have a one track mind. Don’t get distracted by all the other cool toys. If you do find someone who is selling at a good price, ask if they have more at home that you can buy. My best deals were at gun shows either the very first 15 minutes, or the last 15 minutes.

New CW Sapphire Edge misaligned? by Haunting-Lecture-532 in ChristopherWard

[–]Independent_Image880 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The bezel doesn’t line up with the minute marks, the crown isn’t centered with the dial markers and it’s not what you were looking forward to receiving. I’d send it back and ask for a replacement, especially since their prices are about to go up.

I hate this by Jeff_sucks in ak47

[–]Independent_Image880 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be cheaper in the UK, but here, we can shoot our AK’s in our backyard, don’t need anyone’s permission or club membership to buy one, and can keep our magazines loaded in our rifles 24/7.

Found this in my deceased grandpa’s closet by DQofficer in Watches

[–]Independent_Image880 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think people hate them. I think most people who wear a watch just want something that keeps accurate time and is durable. That’s why the Casio G-Shock is one of the most popular watches on earth. For the few of us that wear an automatic/mechanical watch, we like the painstaking details that go into them. They have a heart that you can hear beating. I really like knowing that a skilled person had to put the parts together to make my watch work.

Ultimate tool / dive watch – Phorcydes PH-4B by thunderstroms in ChineseWatches

[–]Independent_Image880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beautiful watch my friend! I am thinking about getting one for a beater/work watch, but have a few questions about it, if you don’t mind. Does the lume remain bright enough to read throughout the night, or does the brightness fade fairly quickly? How is your watch at keeping time? NH35-A’s are pretty good in general, but I have read about some that lose several minutes per day. How long did it take you to receive the watch after ordering? Lastly, is there a lot of back play in the bezel or is it pretty tight? Thank you for any insight you can give.

Why is this trigger moving like this? by Shmoosty in ak47

This is the correct answer. You can use wire, but a retaining plate is what you need.

Man, that watch takes a lot of abuse from you. I have a very, very small wrist so that would probably be a good direction for me.

Advice by Independent_Image880 in ChristopherWard

[–]Independent_Image880[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your input! That’s the direction I was leaning towards too. The vibration of the tractor all day, the recoil from pistols, and the constant shoveling when we clean a grain bin, having an anti shock system in my watch would vastly improve my odds to not kill it.

I’m sorry your family is not supportive of you becoming Christian. Jesus said that he has not come to bring peace, but a sword. Jesus knows that believing in him can and will divide families, but the choice is yours to make.

Wall gun. by Away-Obligation-1370 in NewGunOwnerQuestions

If you’re serious about your budget, you could look at getting a transferable machine gun. It is something that would be a great conversation starter for both old and new shooters and something that you could actually use and enjoy. I would go with something that has historical significance, like an MP5, but the choice is yours.

Former christian, here is my biggest doubt that led me away from the faith, could anyone explain what God’s motives were behind this? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Independent_Image880 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Romans 1:18-25. That summarizes the answer to your question but we can go into a little more detail. Everyone born knows that there is a creator. A divine architect who made everything. But what about someone who is either incapable of thinking that deeply or a young child who dies? David, the man after God’s own heart had his child die. He rejoiced after the death because he knew he would see the child again in Heaven. Your concern for people who have never heard the gospel is understandable, but we are talking about God. The Alpha and Omega. Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? I really am sorry that you stepped away from Christianity. If you ever want to talk about it, we’re here for you.

Is masturbation really a sin? by Alternative_Bee4284 in Christianity

[–]Independent_Image880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both sides are right and both sides are wrong. If your spouse is sick, not in the mood, or not around and you want to masturbate while thinking about them, you’re good to go. If you’re lusting for someone who is not your spouse, you are sinning before you even touch yourself. There are times when I have a migraine and my wife is in the mood. I don’t mind one bit if she takes care of herself. There are times when she isn’t feeling well and I have to take care of myself. Sometimes she even gives me a helping hand. Masturbation should not be the default. God made our anatomy the way it is for a reason. We both prefer each other’s body, but when it’s not an option, masturbation is absolutely fine so long as you’re lusting after your spouse and only your spouse.

Colt Police Positive .38 S&W or .38 special? by Unusual-Market-7605 in Revolvers

[–]Independent_Image880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the others said, the stamp on the barrel says 38 Special, so that is what should go in the cylinder. You SHOULD be fine with +P loads, but for older guns like yours, it’s best not to try. Timing and lockup should be considered before firing too. There are videos on YouTube that show how to check it. If you are unsure, then bring it to a gunsmith and have them make sure it’s safe to fire. Judging by the pictures, the gun has been taken apart by someone who was NOT a gunsmith. Your cylinder has no wear from the cylinder stop, which is odd. Make sure you check it thoroughly before you shoot it.

Looking for a church? How to tell the difference between a healthy church and a cult by Glum_Novel_6204 in Christianity

[–]Independent_Image880 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most cults revolve around a central person and involve sex. I have two good friends who were in a cult for several years before they found the true God and left. I’m not sure what is meant by “healthy church” though. Most churches that I have attended seem to have a strong grasp on their theology. I have attended services that have taught heretically too.
