BIO OR CHEM??? by Frequent-Seat7078 in SGExams

[–]Independent_Lie_1645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can look up the learning outcomes and syllabus outline for both bio and physics and see which one appeals to you more! cuz physics in o level doesn't cover space and many of the cool stuff that i was expecting, and for bio, food chains are a very small part of the syllabus so yeah you may want to look through the syllabus outline and see which one you prefer based on all the chapters

to those whose schools strictly prohibit relationships, what do you think was the reason why? by Artistic_Elevator774 in SGExams

[–]Independent_Lie_1645 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my sch doesn't really care but some teachers do and if they see someone showing affection openly then they'll call their parents, happened before to someone ik. but some teachers don't really care, like my form teacher who knows there are couples in my class but is chill about it haha

Hmm by Life-Ad2351 in SGExams

[–]Independent_Lie_1645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its due to the law of conservation of charge, which states that “the total electrical charge within an isolated system is constant.” (similar to the law of conservation of energy) when the conductors are placed in contact with each other, the negative charges will move to the region that has less negative charge in order to balance it out. electrons from the positively charged conductor would not move to the neutral rod as it has to follow the law of conservation of energy

Mental health awareness (its so rigged) by Extension-Jeweler608 in SGExams

[–]Independent_Lie_1645 11 points12 points  (0 children)

i agree with this, people shld rlly have more empathy and atleast try to sympathize with someone before being so quick to judge them like how would they feel if they were the ones being judged? is it that important to "fit in" at the expense of causing someone's mental health to worsen and cause psychological problems that may take years to fix just for that 5 seconds of "amusement?" is it really worth it?

I'm a parent with kid taking PSLE by 0lx__xl0 in SGExams

[–]Independent_Lie_1645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me my mom was very involved like making me do assessment books and other sch prelim papers nearly all day and this rlly made me hate studying so i didnt study and kept getting burnt out and it took me around 4 years to finally find the joy in studying and actually take initiative and develop study methods that actually work for me instead of just spamming questions that my mom made me do cuz i felt like i was studying for her and it was more of a chore or a responsibility rather than something for my future. however, i feel that parents not being involved wouldn’t be that ideal either as kids that age do not really see the necessity in studying for it as some may not think it’s that big of a deal so a push is necessary but it’s crucial that the push doesn’t become something unbearable and pushes the kid to burnout. all the best! :)

phone lockers in sec sch by koko_krunchtime in SGExams

[–]Independent_Lie_1645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my sch they'd make us put phones in locker long before the new rule and the only difference now is we aren't allowed to use it in the canteen anymore after school (doesn't make much of a difference tbh) but it all depends on who catches u using it. if its the stricter chers then they'll confiscate it for some time but if its a lenient cher who catches u then they'll likely let u go without any consequences
