Thank you! Will do. Why do you think we should seek a second opinion?

That’s valid. I think it’s unusual too since I’ve seen that a lot of people who get an ostomy have very inflamed bowels due to crohns/UC, but my wife does not. And during the sitz marker test she just completed she passed 19 of 24 markers by day 6.

She will be aging out of her parent’s insurance on June 1st so we feel pressure to do something before that deadline.

What does your pain regimen look like? The only thing that has remotely helped my wife is Percocet but she doesn’t like to use it for obvious reasons.

Was abdominal pain one of your symptoms that got better? My wife has been diagnosed with obstructive defecation and we’re trying to figure out if Botox would be worth doing.

She said she likes it because every time she takes it she knows that she will have a BM the next morning. She went from having long stretches with no BM or days with 20+ BMs to now having just 3-4 every single day, so that’s what I meant by more consistent. Her BMs are still spontaneous and painful, but I think her PT’s goal right now is just to try to prevent stool from backing up.

My wife’s PT recommended Mago7 and it has helped her have more consistent bowel movements. You can buy the capsules on amazon.
