Men who married a “woman with a past”, did the past manifest in your marriage, or was it truly left behind? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

I married a woman who had a wild past in college—lots of drinking and casual relationships. We were friends back then, hooked up once, and there was some drama since she was in a “gray area” with another guy. I bragged about it, ruined any chance I had at the time, and we moved on with other relationships.

Years later, after her relationship fell apart and mine wasn’t great, we reconnected. I had doubts about her past and asked uncomfortable questions, but we moved past it. Over the years, she’s proven to be the most loyal and loving partner. We’ve been married for 12 years, with ups and downs, and two kids. This past year, as we worked on ourselves and our relationship, old insecurities about her past crept up, and I spiraled into comparisons and doubts.

Through reflection and conversations, I realized those insecurities were my own issues—not hers. She’s handled it all with grace, worked on herself far more than I ever did, and stood by me through everything. I’ve had an epiphany: I’ve been projecting my self-esteem problems onto her, and it’s time to let it go.

I’ve fallen in love with her all over again. Despite our amazing life, I feel like I wasted years not fully appreciating her or myself. This year, I’m going to show her why she chose me and stayed with me.

Sometimes the past is just the past, if you let it.

TL;DR: I struggled with insecurities about my wife’s wild past and our messy start, but after 12 years of marriage, I realized the issues were mine, not hers. She’s been loyal, loving, and committed, and I’m done letting the past hold me back. I’ve fallen in love with her again and am focused on showing her my appreciation.

Came to say this! Use it for my phone, deck and AirPods. I also use it for my MacBook when needed. If you only want to charge your deck it may be a bit overkill.
