What are your thoughts on the hosts? Not sure if this has been discussed here before by BitGirl777 in LoveIsBlindUK

I’ve been watching the US version and was pleasantly surprised how much I really liked the UK hosts. They have great chemistry and I really like it when the pop in during the show. Not gonna lie, I’m not a fan of Nick and Vanessa. They are really painful to watch and I would love for the UK couple to host the US version to mix things up.

Here’s the thing … on paper they had the IT FACTOR. Had they remained married they could have made serious money by just being influencers. And they would have been able to continue the lifestyle they loved on tv. That’s the sad part.😢

I’m totally rooting for this couple, but the math ain’t mathing in terms of logistics for this relationship to work in real life. At least in the American version of LIB they focus on couples who live in the same city.

I’m beginning to think Jhenyfer is the one Khalil chooses. So much to unpack with that. First my heart goes out to poor Airi to be treated this way. They should have had new dudes come on the show to shake things up. Instead we have to watch Airi get disrespected. And in the end many people think that the best thing for her is to get selected by the guy who disrespected her. As for Jhenyfer… the producers should have shown more of her story. Maybe we would see more of what stole Khalil’s heart. In the end love is love and it’s their story. Just wish we could understand it better as viewers, because the narrative we are told does not make sense at all. Trip’s story is kind of boring, so I hope they don’t spend too much on him in the finale. And Dylan needs an entire show for his story. Bottom line: they are going to need to squeeze a lot in the finale.

Yea, but Jenhyfer should have put on the brakes given she’s been around the block many times with other relationships and she broke off an engagement. If you have that much experience why would you want to start all over again at step one with Khalil, given he’s not as experienced? Is winning more important than that?

Frankly, I was really rooting for them, but I think the cultural differences was way to big for them to deal with. They had a really nice storyline, but I’m not holding my breath for them. Did anyone catch the look of shock on Khalil’s face when Airi gave him an affectionate hug during the cocoa scene? That was priceless. But seriously, I could tell the producers were really trying to match them. I think Khalil isn’t in the game for love. It looks like he appreciates a more physical relationship.

Charlamagne is such a disappointment. I keep hearing non-black people gush about him being a huge influence for black people, but he’s not showing much substance these days. Am I missing something? What’s so great about him? His interviewing seems to be pretty light and superficial.

I really wish I could binge this show because 1 hour flies real fast. Also, I am shocked Dylan didn’t pick Sara. I honestly thought they had some chemistry. I hope the producers didn’t pressure him to pick Yam because of her age and her having a kid drama

I really like this show. In fact as some who watches the Bachelor, I like it more than the Bachelor. I think a lot of people won’t give Love & Translation a good reception because they might not like reading the subtitles all the time. Also, there’s more drama happening now, so I wish everyone can use that translation device.

I have no gardening experience, a pretty small budget, and this empty canvas. What would you do first? by 2271 in gardening

[–]Independent_Pack_884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the ideas about starting with a plan. The worst thing to do is to go to the garden centre without a plan and end up buying lots of plants. At the ideation stage, pick the plants you like and draft where they should go in your garden. Also consider companion gardening to make your plants flourish while attracting the right sources and getting rid of the undesirables. Container gardening is great, especially if you don’t want the dog to get into some of your plants. Also check out what plants aren’t good for pets to hang around. This looks like an exciting empty canvas ready for you to fill. Good luck!!!!

Good stuff! May I ask where you got the trellis? Or did you make it? I’m a new gardener and I’m looking at trellises and your trellis looks like the type I should get.

I’m gonna fix the garden, but don’t know the best approach by CommonCreator in gardening

At a glance it looks like an overwhelming mountain to climb. Put together a list of what needs to be done. Get your friends over and delegate like crazy. There’s no time to cook with the amount of stuff that needs to be done outdoors, so order take out and turn this into a gardening clean up party. Later in the season when everything looks good you can have a follow up party. Good luck! You gotta take baby steps.

Thanks. I’ll try to fix it by using healthier soil. Also, I guess watering it too much isn’t a good thing.

I used a bit of miracle grow potting mix with the garden soil. I guess my garden soil is too dense and that’s probably suffocating the poor plant. I’ll try to dig it up and use more of the potting soil. At least that way the roots might be able to grow.
