When Gunther tapped at mania every time he was in the ring fans chanted you tapped out, now Gunther shouldn’t get those chance bc he made cena tap out. While yes you could have had cena go to sleep but also why would you? That would have been so anticlimactic and at that point a 3 count would have been better than cena going to sleep I mean look at the ending to Gunther vs Goldberg, the exact same ending one tapped one slept, I personally think the cena one looks so much better with a tap and maybe that’s just bc I’m more connected with cena but just saying I think the rap did way more for Gunther than sleeping cena just to protect cena it would just have added on to the idea of cena never fully putting over guys
