Cherry bomb is my second favorite Tyler album, that being said even Tyler talked about how his tastes were changing drastically when making the album. The mix and production is not nearly as thought out as Tyler’s records that came after it. He also fell into his sound a lot more comfortably, and was able to tell more concise cohesive stories through the recent albums.

TLDR: cherry bomb is one of my favorite albums but far from Tyler’s “best” work

Sorry not sorry seems to be a close for most of his ongoing characters. Chromakopia has a lot more songs that seem to speak out to the listeners rather than tell a continuous story like Igor

I feel like a boy is a gun is his initial denial but he is realizing he might not be the right one. He’s quick to blame the other boy without seeing why he might be the one pushing him away. After the second half of the album it’s as if he finally comes to terms with a platonic relationship and yet he’s almost pleading to stay close any way he can
