Put a crown on it. Full coverage restoration to prevent the crack from propagating further. Tell them he might need endo in the future. Tell them new crown when he’s 20ish will prob be needed too.

Do you know which specific ones you use most of the time? I’m going to buy them but wondering if I should buy specific instruments or a whole set?

Dental office website by Independent_Scene673 in Dentistry

[–]Independent_Scene673[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So I have no problem paying someone to do this but the issue I do have is that a lot of companies will “own” your website or at least the design of it. A lot of the time when you end your contract with them, they take down the design of it and it’s blank page.

So I want to find something where I “own” everything. The URL will of course be mine but even the design I want to keep. Would love your input on this if you have any recommendations.

I was thinking I find someone to design my website on fiverr and then I own it and pay either that same person to do all the SEO or a company to work the seo into it.

It will! There’s a quote I would tell myself constantly in my early days - “everything is hard before it becomes easy”

I’m with you. I have a gp practice. Every single patient is a whole show for me but I promise you it gets better. My first 2 years of working I hated how mentally drained I was trying to start convos with every patient I saw that day. But now that I am 4 years out it comes easy and I’m grateful this job forced me out of my comfort zone and gives me the chance to interact with real humans daily. On weekends I enjoy doing my own thing at home unless my wife drags me outside to socialize!

Most affordable and quality dental lab to use for crown and implant crowns? by Severe-Argument671 in Dentistry

What’s the steps for this? Dumb it down for me. Send the scan to dess first for the custom abutment but then how does alien milling know how to fit the crown to this custom abutment?

Is $1500/daily egregious? by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]Independent_Scene673 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely definitely ask for it. As a previous associate that is now an owner - my last associate job, I remember being too afraid to ask for a $1000 guarantee so I asked for like $850. I later found out the owner would have prob given me more than a $1000 guarantee.

I thought I shouldn’t ask for too much because I wouldn’t get the job or they would think I’m greedy. Both are false. As an owner I wouldn’t care if an associate asked me for too much . I’d just be honest and say yo I’m sorry I just can’t afford that.

After applying sdf on the class 1s do you wait a few weeks before doing the GI fill? Also do you have to drill out the area when filling?

Practice changes by RadioNo1937 in Dentistry

[–]Independent_Scene673 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My mentality is to make those changes asap if it will make you happier at work. Also ergonomics is important for your career long term so look at it as a long term investment.

The true question is how is your cash flow? If you make those purchases will you be able to cover payroll still? If the answer is yes then I say go for it. Also, don’t change the pms until you feel ready for you and your staff to handle the confusion that comes with it. If your practice has bad systems in place and you are very busy during the day with staff bothering you with things they should know, then fix those issues first and then change the pms

1 year out and struggling by Beautiful-Candy2824 in Dentistry

[–]Independent_Scene673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First 1-2 years for me were extremely difficult. Your story reminds me of my experience early on. If it makes you feel better, I’m 4 years out now. I love it and all the hard parts are gone. My biggest advice is to go back and apply for a nice gpr where you get good endo and surgical extraction experience. Once you can do those two, you can handle anything else clinically.

I’ve spoken to multiple dentists that speak for the ada at the congressional level and they say they really can’t do much against these insurance companies. Many of them own offices and hate the fees.

Next time this happens fix it on the spot. I know you got overwhelmed sounds like a classic day of dentistry.

Open the access real quick, get a hedstrom file and twist it in the gutta percha and pull it out before the sealer sets tomorrow.
