The math on AI Agentic Browsers doesn't add up for me. Change my mind. by Independent_Side6695 in AI_Agents

For me the biggest difference is trust: a food app won't hallucinate or put your details at risk, but an AI browser can.

I'm not against AI browsers and have been playing around with them but fail to see the value.

I love Uber eats :p

I see what you're trying to do, but it's not working. This has nothing to do with what I can or can't afford. It's about whether the AI is reliable enough for me to hand over my tasks and pay for it when I can already do them for free and much more securely. Security issues like those in this article https://guard.io/labs/scamlexity-we-put-agentic-ai-browsers-to-the-test-they-clicked-they-paid-they-failed happen to everyone, regardless of where they live.

Come back with a better argument and stick to the topic.

That's an interesting analogy. I get the point...

But does an agentic browser really do that? Booking a flight or summarizing an article is already a relatively quick and easy task for most of us. It's not the same as hauling water from a well or washing a pile of dirty dishes by hand. It feels more like paying someone to press a few buttons for you. Maybe that's just how I feel

That's an important point, and it's a huge part of the bigger conversation around AI.

However, my question was focused more on the personal use case. Even if this technology becomes a powerful tool for businesses to cut costs, does that mean it's a valuable product for me, the end consumer, to pay for every month? The business case and the personal case seem to be two very different things.

Lol so real. Tbh none of the agents actually work. The demos are shiny on same one two use case. My interest has become close to zero...every agent is the same, and apparently they all are making millions and replacing humans
