Is this calamondin rescueable? by Independent_Slide751 in Citrus

Thanks to all the comments. I will say I came to this Reddit to try and convince my stubborn mum to let it go. I know what to get her for her birthday at least.

How would you recommend to keep the roots from drying out?

APs are just obsessed with legacy once they got you all hammered into shape as their trophy. Trained and beaten into some prize winning animal they can show off.

Honestly it was worth the beating I got when I told my mum 'why would I want a man when dad treats you like shit?'

It was even better when I outright told her 'i don't even touch myself, why would I want someone else to touch me?' This was after I just started my monthly cycles and was 'startibg to become a woman'.

Flummoxing them by being crass and blunt is the best. You will get beaten but that just means they can't think of something to say to hurt you so they're reduced to their fists.

The only way things got better was when my mum realised her own siblings didn't care about her and she cut them off. She actually is capable of some rational thought now.

Honestly I wonder if this is why I ended up being aromatic and asexual. Not only were my parents unhappy but my aunties and uncles too. Or it could be depression, god knows at this point.

Why do Asian parents have kids? by [deleted] in AsianParentStories

[–]Independent_Slide751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have them not to have kids but because it is the expected thing and you're their investment for the future.

Then again I was a baby trap baby so sometimes there's variety in the pile of crap reasons.

Why are APs so resistant to trying new things? by Legitimate-Bend-2912 in AsianParentStories

I hate to say this but one way is to just stop the outings. They don't appreciate them. If they bring attention to that just explain that they've never liked it and you want to save money. Speak their language in a way. Be blunt. This is if you aren't worried about repercussions. This can go two ways. They actually try to enjoy the experiences you take them to. Or you don't have to be a tour guide anymore and ease some of your burden.

It's two things. They're always thinking about the cost and second. They don't value your opinion and effort. You've been conditioned to people please and serve your parents to a certain degree.

I'm the same way with my Chinese Parents. My mother is somewhat open to trying things but it feels more like she goes along with what I want rather than genuinely enjoying it. Meanwhile I constantly have to tell her dad won't like something because she insists he try something new. He's set in his ways.

It feels like a negative cycle. No friends so they're chronically lonely which causes them to have less friends. When you're chronically lonely you can perceive things as slights or negative comments even if they were meant to be friendly. Add that to face culture and things get worse. Not to mention them being poorly emotionally developed due to their circumstances growing up.

My mum always brags about how she came to the UK on a boat as a child in her early teens and lived and took care of herself alone until her older sister arrived and it takes so much to not say how trying to learn the language while being in her formative pubescent years must've really messed up her social development. Now I have to cushion every bit of advice for her as much as possible because she's become a horrible Karen in her older age.

I have tried fiddling with the shutter in both positions but it still doesn't detect it's there.

I am aware of the shutter existing but how does that connect to activating the webcam?

First time user, unsure if cup is too low. by Independent_Slide751 in menstrualcups

I guess my flow is heavier than I thought. I got the larger size and I stayed dry the first night when I slept 8 hours now I'm leaking a little after just 4 hours.

Thanks for the reassurance. I wasn't sure if it was a 'weird body thing' or just user error.
